Our cozy guest house is clean and comfortable and in one of the greatest neighborhoods in San Diego. Walking distance to local restaurants, coffee shops, public transportation & a short drive (less than 10 minutes) to the beach, downtown, much more.

Adorable cottage comfortably fits 3-4 people in a wonderful, walkable, historic neighborhood with plenty of restaurants & coffee shops nearby. The canyon property is almost a full acre of many trees, prior guests have likened their stay here to sleeping in a tree house.

The cottage's main bedroom has a queen bed, the smaller room (approximately 8x5") has a twin bed, with an extra mattress that can be pulled out to accommodate another guest (this option probably best for a child or young person). There is a full kitchen with dishes, pots, and pans - nearby grocery stores are within walking distance.

A comfortable living room is stocked with board games, cards and a record player, in case you want to bring some of your favorite vinyl.

Very close to downtown, the beach and Little Italy (as well as the airport), our home is in it's own unique neighborhood with nearby coffee shops, fantastic restaurants, shops and grocery stores.

We are generally available throughout the day as needed and are happy to give recommendations, directions, etc.

Widely regarded as one of San Diego's finest neighborhoods, Mission Hills features elegant homes along tree-lined streets, a thriving business district, and above all, a strong sense of community. Adjacent to the vibrant neighborhood of Hillcrest and perched above Old Town and Mission Valley, Mission Hills is located just a few miles northwest of downtown. With its lush landscaping and winding canyons, driving into Mission Hills is like entering an oasis. However, its central location and easy transportation access means you are just minutes from all that San Diego has to offer.

Mission Hills has come to be synonymous with some of San Diego's finest examples of historic architecture. Its first home, Villa Orizaba, was built in 1887 and subsequent subdivisions such as Avalon and Inspiration Heights were developed in the early 20th century. Now collectively known as Mission Hills, these homes were built in a variety of styles including Craftsman Bungalows, Prairie Homes, and Spanish and Mission Revival, just to name a few. Some of San Diego's finest architects worked in the area, such as William E. Hebbard and Richard Requa. The architectural diversity of the neighborhood is one of its finest features today.

The abundant greenery and beautiful gardens of Mission Hills are also famous throughout San Diego. Much of the neighborhood owes thanks to Kate Sessions, also known as the Mother of Balboa Park, who opened a nursery in the neighborhood in 1910. Still in business today, the Mission Hills Nursery is San Diego's longest running nursery and a gathering point for community green thumbs.

In addition to its warm residential feel, Mission Hills has an active business community offering fine dining, shops and services within walking distance for its residents. Local business owners join residents as active members of the community, evidenced through multiple annual events celebrating the neighborhood's great history and continued success.

Miranda & Brian were fantastic hosts. The place is as advertised and very clean. Their cleaning lady does a great job. I booked my trip last-minute (the same morning) and they were very responsive to accommodate me. The apartment is well-equipped with everything you might need. I particularly enjoyed the balcony out the back facing trees and a greenery area. As an experienced host myself I can state that this was an excellent place and I would definitely return if I am in San Diego again. Great job guys!

I've lived in San Diego so went into this stay knowing the location was going to be ideal. What I didn't count on was the friendly hosts and the exceptionally clean, spacious and gorgeously appointed cottage. The space was spotless. The bed was firm and comfortable. The environment was quiet and tranquil. The home is nestled in one of San Diego's many canyons, an easy walk to Mission Hills/Hillcrest. Everything you would want to see, eat or drink is around the corner. The airport is 10 minutes away. Lovely and perfect.

Brian and Miranda have a lovely little cottage in Mission Hills. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and with easy access to all areas of interest. Plenty of parking space on the street immediately near the house, and reasonable access to public transportation. Overall a good experience.

Wonderful cute guest home to stay in. Everything as described and very clean. Didn't utilize much amenities as most of the day was spent at the San Diego Comic Con. Would definitely love to stay again.

Such a cute and perfect cottage for an amazing weekend get away. The cottage was so close to everything we needed and was a perfect place to make "home-base" for the weekend. Beautiful property and neighborhood made the stay so comfortable and welcoming. Would definitely return next time I make it to the area.

We had a great time in San Diego and loved staying in Brian & Miranda's guest house. The house itself was very comfortable for our family of three (12-month old baby) and B&M went out of their way to help make it so by providing a pack 'n play for our daughter to sleep in and letting us use their laundry room. Their son is super cute and made fast friends with our daughter, which was the cherry on top of a great experience.

We are a very happy couple, originally from Alaska and now have made our home in San Diego for the past fifteen years. We live and work here and love welcoming guests - family and friends, new & old - to share the beaches, parks, ocean air, city life, amazing weather, people and history of our city.

Brian is a civil engineer and I am a family physician, we met as children at summer camp in (URL HIDDEN) Alaska where we fell in love.
