À propos de ce logement
Villa Monziani, an exclusive 17th C lakefront house, one of the oldest on the island in the middle of Lake Orta, recently completely modernised, offers a peaceful and romantic stay in beautiful and historic surroundings. Our private boat (8HP outboard - no license required) guarantees full flexibility and our mainland locked garage are included. We also have a residents open parking place for eventual second car.
The house dates from 1637 and although recently modernised it maintains its traditional and antique character, and being at the moment the only house rented on the island it affords a unique opportunity for a special vacation, an event or a wedding reception (we have special access to the largest private garden on the island for an external wedding ball).

We greet our guests in the main square in Orta, show them the garage and then go to the island via private boat or public transport, show them the ropes and answer all questions. It is essential that arrivals take place before 6pm in case of really bad weather as we would have to use a taxiboat to access the island. This has never happened yet but nature must not be taken lightly. On departure I'll come to the island to help you over or meet in Orta to retrieve house & garage keys. A drop off point can be arranged otherwise if need be.
The prices are for two bedrooms, including everything specified in Guest Access. If more rooms are required it is indicated in the pricing. A small separate apartment on the top floor belongs to my cousins. They are completely independent. They use the back entrance and the central staircase to get to their flat. They are very nice people and if present do not intrude. The back entrance leads to the circular walkway around the island.
The lake has the second cleanest lake water in Europe and I've witnessed its complete recovery from the industrial pollution of the 70s, when it was considered practically dead, to the thriving ecosystem of today, full of aquatic and bird life. I have installed a septic tank so please help it function properly by not throwing solid-waste down the toilet and use bins provided. The soap, washing powder, conditioner etc. provided is all ecological, please make sure yours are too. I beg you please don't throw your cigarette butts into the lake.
