The front door will be open when you arrive, and the key is on the front table along with the Welcome letter. Please read it carfully. The Checkout Procedure is on the back. Please leave the house unlocked on the day or your departure. There is a white binder in the living room under the window with a lot of information about the house and the surrounding area. There is a security system in the house which you will not need to use. However, it is connected to our smoke alarms, so be sure to turn on the stovetop fan when you are cooking to prevent setting them off.. Also be sure to follow the fireplace instructions carefully for opening the damper--they are posted to the left of the fireplace. If the smoke alarms do go off Security will call and ask for a password which is "Mansfield". The code to turn off the alarms is 1228. Turn on the ceiling fans and open the back door and the alarms will stop.
If it snows while you are there, park your cars tightly together parallel to and in front of the garage. That way the plow can clear the area closer to the house. The plow comes for every 6 in. of snow.
If you have any questions, you can call Betsy Evans. Her number is in the Welcome letter.
There is a lot of information at the house about the surrounding area. Please be aware that we have neighbors on our road even though you may not see the houses, so keep music at a reasonable level. Sound carries in the mountains.

I am a photographer and my husband is a writer. We have lived in Hyde Park for 35 years and raised two children here. We run, bike, and swim with our chocolate lab, Azzi, and love to hike. We have lived in this apartment for 11 years and did extensive rehab. We garden in a community garden in the neighborhood and do a lot of cooking.
