I have lived in southwest Florida since 2002 and have worked, played and volunteered in various Parks and Preserves in the area during this time. I am more than happy to share my experiences and suggest kayaking trips, hiking adventures and swamp walks. Just ask!
I may not be on the property during your stay, so if I cannot meet you in person, I will do everything I can to make sure you are well prepared for your visit and that all of your needs are taken care of while you are here.
Once you book your reservation, make sure you follow the directions to the house posted on Airbnb. Some navigation systems will take you to the wrong house! Your phone and/or internet service may be spotty once you get into the Everglades, so you may want to print or save the directions before you begin your drive to Everglades City.
This is a multi-family duplex with long-term tenant and another Airbnb apartment on the property. My goal is to provide private and quiet accommodations for my short-term guests. I ask that guests respect quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Smoking is not allowed in the house. If you smoke, please smoke outside and be very careful when disposing of cigarette butts.
I first visited Everglades City in January of 2002 and was only supposed to stay a month. Well, that was 14 years ago. All I can say is WOW! this place never ceases to amaze me. I have worked, volunteered and played in many places in this area. If you like, I will share my experiences and suggest adventures on and off the beaten path....kayaking in the Everglades, hiking in the Big Cypress, swamp walking in the Fakahatchee....
