This 1889 home has been completely remodeled. It's exterior maintains its original charm while the interior has been updated in a comfortable, modern style. To read more about the renovation of the home, check out the article written in Walla Walla Lifestyles magazine

To gain access into the home, we will communicate this procedure through our email interactions. To allow enough time to prepare the home for renters, check in is 3pm and Check out is 11am. Exceptions can be made ahead of time.
Guests have access to the entire home, however, the laundry room has not been updated and is where we keep cleaning material for our three Dayton rentals and wash bedding. If you use this room to wash clothing, you can get an idea of what the home looked like before the remodel (wood paneling, cheap veneer floors, low ceilings, etc.).
During winter, the BBQ and outdoor furniture is put away, but when the weather is consistently warmer and dry, you may use the amenities as well.

I may or may not see you during your stay. I'm often around working on the three rentals I have on Dayton Ave.

Le quartier

What don't I love? I lived in this house for 12 years. It's a quiet, residential street. If you wake up early in the morning, you may find deer in the yard. It's not unlikely to see a rafter of wild turkeys in the yard or roaming the avenue. The house is within walking distance to all of downtown including historic sites such as the Smith Hollow School, the Dayton Historic Depot (State's oldest existing train depot) and the Columbia County Courthouse (State's oldest working courthouse). Dayton also has three historic districts (2 residential and 1 commercial. Stop into the Dayton Chamber of Commerce to get a walking map.
If it's a nature walk you want, walk up Front Street to Flour Mill Park on Main Street to gain access to the Dike Trail which follows the Touchet River for two miles.
You can walk to incredible restaurants such as the Weinhard Cafe or Manila Bay Cafe on Main Street or the Patit Creek Restaurant also on Dayton Ave (definitely make reservations for the last two). I also recommend having a beer at Chief Springs Brew Pub and ordering the world's best pizza from their restaurant next door.


From Main Street (Highway 12), turn North onto Front Street. Go eight short blocks to Dayton Ave. Take a left. The house will be on your left.
There is plenty of street parking. If you wanted public transit during the day, the Columbia County Transit is very convenient. Simply call .

Autres remarques

The official State waterfalls, Palouse Falls are located just 45 minutes northeast of Dayton. The falls are 198 ft (60 m) in height.[2] The falls consists of an upper falls with a drop of ~20 feet (6.1 m) which lies 1,000 feet (305 m) north northwest of the main drop, and a lower falls, with a drop of ~180 feet (55 m). It's definitely worth the drive and is worthy of a vacation to the area.
The Walla Walla AVA is a short drive West. Over 100 wineries producing fantastic wines and the best Bordeaux in the world (we might be bias). Definitely check out Dumas Station Wine's tasting room just outside of Dayton.

This is a lovely, quiet location. We enjoyed sitting in the back yard, and it was wonderful to be able to walk to the Patit Creek Cafe and other great Dayton places. It's a good place to be, and a good base for visiting Walla Walla, wineries, as well as all the other things to see in this amazing part of Washington!

Super cute cottage, beautifully decorated, restored and updated. Loved staying in Dayton, which is a little town 30 miles outside Walla Walla. Good restaurants nearby, so you don't need to drive back into Walla Wall after wine tasting all day. Would absolutely stay there again.

This house is adorable! We had a great weekend here in early June and enjoyed the back deck, the garden, and especially the wonderful kitchen. We did not lack for anything and found the house to be cozy and inviting. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen is well furnished. WiFi, cable, inviting places to perch and relax, all-in-all a great place to call home for a few days of adventure. We'll be back, this place is wonderful and Brad is a great host who made everything easy and comfortable.
