Everywhere your eyes land you are sure to smile...we really wanted to decorate the place to be OUR own special vacation place- at least as nice as our place at home. Nothing generic or thrift store "cabin" about the place. Into each life a little luxe should fall- yes?!

AS OF APRIL 2016: THIRD BEDROOM- LARGE SUITE WITH PRIVATE BATH-WILL BE PART OF THE RENTAL.

We have all the usual amenities you hope for and in new or excellent condition: 55" flat screen TV, cable, wifi, new stainless steel kitchen appliances, toaster, blender, good knives, beautiful plates, basic cooking ingredients like oil and spices, primo top of the line bedding and mattresses, great towels, shampoo-bath gel, washer and dryer with "starter" supply of detergent.

Outdoors there is a covered new tile patio with comfy seating for four, bbq grill, and a picnic basket for four is available. Enclosed backyard and will consider pet guests on a case by case basis so please do ask. Immediately adjacent to terrific park and then three blocks more the very lovely and larger Pioneer Park.

You don't need a car to get around but if you bring it we have a nice long driveway for you to park it in.

This is a vacation rental, not our main home and so interaction will likely be zero beyond the communication we welcome our reservations and your questions about Walla Walla and so forth!

Boyer Avenue is a historic street. At one end you have the beautiful Whitman College campus (and it really is beautiful-you can tour the sculptures alone and have fun there.) At the other "end", you have My Walla Walla Getaway, your new favorite vacation rental. And in between a tree-lined street as bucolic as any you've seen in great old films!

If you bring a car, we have a nice long driveway for you to park it in. If you fly in, take a short cab ride into town. Walla Walla is small--about 3 miles in diameter? You can easily walk from vacation home to downtown, shops, restaurants, wineries and parks. There is public transit also but you won't likely need to use it.

Just how art filled the home is. This is really that "find"' for someone for whom staying in a place with character and charm is important.

1. CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 p.m.
Please Note: IF guests are checking out the same day your party is arriving, check-in time will be 4:00 p.m. to allow house cleaner the time to clean thoroughly and early check-in will not be an option.

2.CHECK-OUT TIME: 11:00 a.m. Late check-out gladly considered on a case-by-case basis.

3.Smoking is not permitted on the property, inside or outside in the yards.

4.Pets are permitted with previous authorization and on a case-by-case basis. If approved, the nightly surcharge for a pet is $25 per night. The security deposit will be forfeited if you bring any unauthorized animals.

5.Extra guests, including children, not named in the contract, are not permitted. The security deposit will be forfeited if it is learned that extra guests were accommodated.

6.Primary renter/responsible party must be 25 years or older.

7.Security deposit: A refundable deposit of $300 is required. Deposit will be refunded within 7 days of rental, following inspection by the house cleaner. The amount of the security deposit refund will be in full if the following criteria is met:
a.No damage has been incurred to the house itself or any of its contents.
b.Renters comply with all agreements made in the rental agreement.
c.The house and yard are left reasonably clean. Specifically: all trash has been removed and placed in outside trash cans, dishes/kitchenware have been washed by machine or by hand, perishable food has been removed from fridge/freezer, and spills have been addressed.
d.The house is left locked and all windows closed and shades drawn.
e.No household contents have been removed, lost or damaged. This includes but is not limited to furnishings, art work, household supplies, books/dvds-cds and bedding.
f.No guest has been asked to leave the premises by the owner or owner’s representative or local law enforcement during the rental term.


8.Payments: Fifty percent of entire rental fee, including tax, is required upon making reservation. The full remaining fees—fifty percent rental fee, housecleaning fee, taxes and refundable security deposit—are due 30 days prior to check-in date. In those cases where reservation is made within 30 days of check-in date the entire fee and deposit is due at the time of reservation.

9.Cleaning and cleaning fee: There is a non-refundable cleaning fee of $90.00/plus tax. When guests arrive, if anything is damaged or dirty, the renter is to notify owner immediately so this condition can be noted and/or fixed.

10.Event Weekends: Event weekends are designated by Owner and subject to changes/additions from vacation rental sites.

11. Cancellation/Refunds:
a.Cancellations must be received at 30 days prior to the reserved date in order to qualify for a refund. Cancellations made with less than 30 days’ notice will result in forfeiture of 50% deposit.
b.Early departure does not qualify as a reason for partial or full refund.


12. Maximum Occupancy: 10

13.Minimum Stay: Standard minimum stay is two nights and Special Event weekend minimum stay is three nights.

14.Maid Service and Laundry: Daily maid service is not provided. Washer and dryer are available for guest’s use during their stay and laundry detergent is available for use.

15.Rate changes: Rates are subject to change without notice.

16.Falsified reservations: Any reservations secured under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of all advance payments and the renters will not be permitted to check-in.

17.Exceptions: Any exceptions to the policies and agreements made herein must be approved in writing prior to the rental period.

18.Disclaimer:
a.This is a privately owned house. The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while the renters and/or their guests are on the premises.
b.At all times, renters are “guests” of the owners and monies paid are for responsible use of the accommodations and facilities.
c.The owners are not responsible for loss or theft of any personal belongings and valuable of the renters or their guests.

d.By accepting this Rental Agreement, it is agreed that all renters are expressly assuming any risk of harm to themselves or others whom they invite to use the premises that arises from their use of the premises.

19. This rental agreement is made upon the express condition that the owner is free of all liability and claim for damages by reason of any injury to any person/ persons, including the renter and the renter’s guests, or property of any kind whatsoever and to whomsoever belonging, from any cause or causes whatsoever while in, upon, or in any way connected with the premises. Each renter/residing guest agrees to indemnify and hold owner harmless from all liability, loss or claims of damages or arising out of the occupancy of the leased premises by the renters or their guests however occurring.

By moving forward with the reservation, you and each adult including in the reservation, are agreeing to all the terms and conditions contained in this agreement.

Five things I don't wish to live without: music, books, art, theatre and really, really great food.

Five places I'd go back to in a heartbeat: Oaxaca, Mexico, a beautiful tranquil beach most anywhere in the world, southwest Utah, Tucson, Arizona, Manhattan.

About my listing in Walla Walla: I fell in love with Walla Walla while living there following my graduation from Whitman College. I was an 'older student' and moved there with my 12 year old son. It proved to be an idyllic setting for us. If Norman Rockwell had drawn a portrait of a young single mother/student with her boy, we might have been it! I worked, while a student, as a bilingual interpreter for a family planning clinic and also Child Protective Services. After graduating, I became the Teen Outreach Educator for Planned Parenthood and continued working for CPS, as a social worker. I loved my jobs and co-workers! I also volunteered for the City of Walla Walla on a Hispanic Advisory Committee and for the United Way. There was much good work to be done in Walla Walla and I loved this little town...BUT, it was tough to be single here and so I said to myself: get thee to a big city! (And to Seattle I went.) BUT... I never forgot the good feelings engendered by this “land of many waters” and so when I had the opportunity to do so, I purchased a property. I dreamed of having it be my vacation home, but the timing was wrong and so it became a month to month rental instead Now, after many years, my dream has true and me and my family have a lovely place to land for weekend getaways. AND I get to share the place with you and do my best as the owner/property manager to give you the best experience you've had in a vacation rental. I truly intend to master the ART of the vacation rental!
