Nestled beneath a 100 year old 'Queenslander' house, our light and breezy two bedroom flat is only a five minute walk to shops, cafes, parks, public transport and the beautiful Moreton bay. Features a well appointed kitchen and private patio.
The apartment has everything that you will need to feel at home for either a short or extended stay. The space has been architecturally designed to be warm in winter and cool in summer. It is light and airy while offering a leafy outlook and ample privacy. There are 2 beds (one queen and one single). A folding camp bed can be provided for an extra child if needed.

Off-street parking is provided for one car. Guests have private entry into the flat, and enjoy exclusive use of the rear patio.

We live in the house, upstairs from the flat, so are on site much of the time. We are happy to offer any assistance that you may need during your stay (and a cup of tea or a glass of wine) but equally happy to leave you in peace as you enjoy your stay.
Sandgate is a thriving seaside village of beautiful sub-tropical Brisbane. It has a vibrant community feel, lots of local events, great restaurants, bars and live music. We highly recommend a dinner at Il Forno Pizza restaurant and a drink or two at one of the local bars.
For families with children, there are several playgrounds within a few minutes walk. The nearby lagoons provide a great place for nature watching, and nothing beats finishing a weekend with fish and chips on the waterfront while watching the moon come up. Although the waterfront is tidal sand flats it is a great place for fishing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling, walking or jogging.
The house is located in a picturesque 'character street' that features many classic examples of early 1900's 'Queensland' architecture. One end of the street affords ocean views while the other looks over the Brisbane City and beyond.
Our apartment is a short 5 minute walk from the Sandgate train station, with trains running directly to the city and Southbank. The city is a 35 minute train ride. Buses can take you to the city (route 310) and also to Chermside (route 335). Our proximity to the gateway motorway (M1) allows easy access to the Brisbane Airport, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Wireless internet is provided, but we kindly ask that you don't stream movies or games.
We lead busy lives yet are at home most evenings and weekends. Our three children are generally courteous and friendly, yet like most children, from time to time they do make noise. If you are wanting absolute solitude this is probably not your ideal place. Our family is very sociable and love entertaining. We look forward to welcoming you to Sandgate.

We live in the house upstairs and have young children so please consider that (we try to keep their noise to comfortable levels). We want you to have a pleasant stay, but this is not the place for loud, late night parties - there are plenty of great bars in Sandgate for that; you might just see us there too ;)
While we like animals we don't allow pets without prior notice.
As we don't charge a cleaning fee, we request that all guests leave the accommodation in the same clean and tidy state as they found it.
