À propos de ce logement
A very comfortable retreat, in the front rooms of a federation home, only metres from Beaumont St, one of the busiest "eat streets" in Newcastle. You have access to a lovely bedroom with comfortable queen size bed, a spacious lounge room, a small kitchenette & bathroom.
If you need more than one bedroom A SECOND BEDROOM IS AVAILABLE under another listing: HAMILTON HAVEN TOO. It needs to be booked separately from this one. The bedrooms are opposite each other on either side of the hallway.
Your rooms are part of the original section of a lovely old house, built in 1895. So it has all the usual features of its era - high ceilings, fireplaces, polished kauri pine floors. And it is located only half a block from bustling Beaumont St with all its cafes and eateries. You can go out to dinner and enjoy your wine, without having to worry about driving home.
Accès des voyageurs
You have access to your bedroom, plus a large lounge room, small kitchenette and bathroom. Your rooms are located in the front of the house. You can enjoy a cuppa in the sun or a quiet drink in the cool of the evening from the north-facing front verandah.
Please note that the kitchenette is small and comprises a sink, bar fridge, and microwave oven. There is no regular stove or oven, but there is a kettle, toaster, and sandwich maker. Guests generally prefer to eat out in Beaumont St at one of the many restaurants or cafes there, and just have light meals or snacks in their accommodation.
Breakfast basics are provided including: cereal (muesli, Weetbix), bread, butter and spreads, fruit, yoghurt, milk, orange juice, teas and coffee.
I live out the back of the house and upstairs. Your area at the front is quite separate, except that my office is located next to the lounge room and I may occasionally need to access that, but not usually on weekends.

For the most part I will be at home when guests are staying here, though coming and going with a normal busy life. I will be available to meet and greet, answer any questions, give directions, etc. but will be sensitive to how much interaction you would like. I enjoy meeting people and sharing stories but if you just want some quiet time to yourselves that is fine too.
Re. car parking: it can get quite busy in the street. If space is available, you are welcome to park off the street in the driveway. However, please confer with me first, as we may need to negotiate times when I might need to access the driveway. But this can be sorted!
Re. second bedroom: This room is only available to people who book YOUR HAMILTON HAVEN, but it has to be booked separately under the listing: HAMILTON HAVEN TOO. So, if you only require one bedroom, you will not find yourself sharing the place with any other guests.
No visitors. No pets. No smoking on the premises.
My work room is off limits.
Thanks for your consideration, courtesy and respect.

I am currently still working from my home here in Hamilton. Hence, the sign on the front wall! However, I am scaling back my work these days to allow more time for my gorgeous grandkids and also to do a little bit of painting. I like to dabble and you'll see some of my efforts on the walls!
I have lived in this house since 1980, and loved it into shape over all these years. One of the things I love most about living here is that it is so convenient to shops, cafes, restaurants, lovely walks to our local parks, along Throsby Creek, beside the harbour or up to the beaches. Newcastle is a beautiful place!
I enjoy my garden, socialising with family and friends, getting outdoors, art, films and music. I also love to travel and so far have managed to see some of Europe, UK, India, USA and South America. Still keen to do more! There's a lot more world to see.
I'm looking forward to meeting people through AirBnB, sharing some stories - all part of life's rich tapestry!
