Description

Le logement

This charming wooden cottage with a lovely outside covered deck feels like you are floating in an oak forest. You'd never know you were anywhere near a city. Amenities include: stainless steel sink and counter, butcher block chopping area in the kitchen as part of a outdoor dining area and an inside living room. The downstairs features a newly installed Brazilian Cumaru hardwood floor which, believe it or not, came from Jennifer Aniston's home! There is a full size bed downstairs.

Climb up a wooden stair case through a hobbit door to enter in a very large bedroom area with beautiful wooden rafters and a queen size bed. There is plenty of room for additional mattresses. There is a separate free standing bathroom with a full bath. You will have high speed wireless internet, parking, , access to a coin laundry and the community house (kitchen, dining and living area, and fireplace) on 13 acres.

You will be nestled in a 13 acre mountain village with other cottages, forests and mountain views. There are laundry facilities, a communal kitchen / living space with a 100 year old fire place. You’d never know you were anywhere near a city!

Visiting this property is a very unique experience, some describe it as “glamorous camping”. No photoshoots, parties or cats allowed without prior arrangement. Please read the full description, disclaimer, and reviews, to make sure this is what you are looking for.

DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your party will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.

Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

*********************************************************************
FILM AND PHOTOS SHOOTS: This is an amazing property for photography, and film, with 13 acres of rustic cottages, oak forests and sculpted streams. But please note we have special, and quite reasonable rates for filming, in addition to the normal rental charges. Please let us know ahead of time so we can work out the details. Commercial filming is not permitted without permission.

NO PARTIES!

A. We don't allow parties without prior arrangements, so we don't disturb the other guests. It's extremely quiet here at night. If you're having more than the one or two other friends over please let us know in advance.

B. NO FILM or PHOTOSHOOTS without prior arrangement.

C. NO CATS permitted for safety reasons.

D. Dogs are permitted for an ADDITIONAL FEE of $15 per night per pet..

E. Vehicle - All guests must have a vehicle. If you are planning to get dropped off here please contact us first so we can determine if it is appropriate.

F. Infants and very young children - please read the descriptions carefully to determine if your rental is safe and appropriate for your child.

G. Agility - Most of our places require one to be agile enough to climb a driveway, up a ladder, crawl through a small door, or something requiring nimbleness. If you are older, infirm or don't consider yourself agile, you might want to consider another rental. Please read our descriptions carefully.

H. Unusual - Most of our rentals are unconventional and rustic. Please come here expecting something different! For most people this is what is so charming about this magical little village. Some people consider our places akin to a luxurious form of camping! Make sure you aren't expecting anything that's not in the description. The vast majority of airbnb guests are completely charmed by this place. But as one of our reviewers wrote: "This is Old Topanga Canyon Verite (French for "the real thing"). Don't expect Holiday Inn"

Description is what exactly you expected. Minor changes in furniture or inside fixtures compare to shown in pictures. It is not for everyone but if you like outdoors and you dont mind bugs, spiders, sight of snake, then you will definitely enjoy the stay. We will definitely come back or if not recommend to others.

We stayed in the teahouse with our 4 year old son, and we loved it. The place was exactly as described, the communication with the host was great, and we had a lovely time. The surrounding area was lovely - full of character, and included a brook for our son to play in, as well as some very interesting wildlife to spot. I would recommend, if possible, future guests bringing one of those candles that keep away bugs if planning to stay outside on the veranda for more than an hour or so in the evening, but apart from that, we loved the place, and had a great time.

Fallon's place was great - our favorite part was the rope swing! This is definitely more of a camping experience, but if that's what your'e looking for, it's perfect. My one piece of advice would be to figure out the deck lights before it gets too dark outside. Would definitely come back!

Great place to get away and still be near to LA. It's almost as if you are away to some other country. Really pleasant stay in the midst of a really natural setting.
