Modern bungalow. Stunning views over Stornoway and beyond. 5 double bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Large kitchen/dining & living room. Well equipped. TV in all rooms inc kitchen (satellite), large garden. WiFi & linen included. 12mins to town.

Le logement

My wife and I bought this bungalow in 2004, principally for the views. It will easily accommodate 10, (12 by arrangement) guests in the 5 double bedrooms (one en-suite), one main bathroom and a toilet/washbasin in the utility room. There is a large kitchen with dining area and substantial living room. All bedrooms can sleep at last 2. Usually, its 3 double rooms and 2 twin rooms. Alternatively, we can re-configured these - within reason. The master bedroom has a king sized bed. There is a cot available. Two of the double bedrooms are substantial. WiFi and laundry included. Lots of TVs - some satellite.
There is a mini market and café about a mile from the house. It's 5.4 miles/12 minutes' drive to the centre of Stornoway.

The house has been popular with friends & families who like to rent it for a rare opportunity to get everybody together in one place, relax, take it easy and chat.

Its also been attractive to smaller families who just want a good quality, spacious house.

Although we have never had a problem in this house, we DO NOT accept wild parties, stag parties or hen parties etc. Unruly behaviour will result in immediate eviction without further discussion.

You have exclusive use of the house and gardens. Please keep within the fenced garden but the occasional walk over the adjoining land is encouraged. Just please respect this rural area and the neighbours' property.

Your privacy is important to us, but so is our concern that you have what you need. Generally, you will have somebody to meet and greet you.

There's BT WiFi. The kitchen normally has satellite TV, at least two fridges, a fridge freezer, dish washer, washing machine, condensing dryer, slow cooker, 2 microwaves, 2 kettles, 4 slice toaster and more than enough crockery. Each bedroom has TV (some satellite), linen and towels. Cot available.
Heating oil & electricity are measured/metered & charged at cost. We provide the first inch of oil and £35 of electricity per week.

Please note: Parent and guardians of small children should note that the house is surrounded by a fence, some of which is barbed wire, to prevent sheep entering.

The house is very well situated with beautiful scenery all around. What a fabulous place! The house is fully equipped with everything needed and John was very helpful! This was our first trip to the Western Hebrides and we had a memorable, fun-filled time on the Isle of Lewis.

what a fabulous place! Great location and very spacious bedrooms, lounge and huge kitchen. Very clean, bright and well appointed. Our group appreciated being able to spread out and have tons of room to ourselves as well as group dinners and socializing.

Great house, loads of space, spent most of our time sitting around the large kitchen table. Located right on the headland with beautiful views. Easy access to Stornoway & beyond. Fully equipped with everything needed & John was very helpful from booking to when we arrived. Always available to answer questions quickly. A great stay.

John is an amazing host! He was so kind and helpful when checking in and was also available for any questions we had during our stay. The house is well kept and on a stunning piece of property out on the point. It is very close to town, but feels secluded as well. John also had great wifi at the house which helped with connecting back to home. We are all so happy with your stay in Stornaway. Thanks John!!!!

We upgraded the WiFi again a couple of days ago. I'm really glad you enjoyed the house. My wife and I (and our helpers) get a tremendous sense of satisfaction when our guests enjoy it. It would be great to get a chance to chat for longer if you're ever back in Stornoway.

As you can see I'm grey and bald. Its been a hard life! I studied engineering and then computing and then started an IT company which kept me occupied for the next 30+ years. My wife and I are grandparents, but there's life in us yet. We love travelling. Europe (Germany in particular), USA, Canada, New Zealand and Africa. I want my guests to come and enjoy my houses in and around Stornoway, experience the lifestyle and the stunning scenery. Get out and see the place! Even in bad weather, its beautiful.
