Description

Our quiet apartment on the first floor is close to coffee shops, bars, restaurants and museums. Next to dining/living area there is the fully equipped kitchen.
Three AC equipped bedrooms fit 6 and a bright hallway takes you to the private patio.

This typical high ceiling apartment is located in the heart of the colonial town Old San Juan. We lived here with our kids for seven years; therefore it owns a special place in our hearts. Steps away from coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and museums, this quiet apartment offers a magic sense of privacy.

It is located on the first floor of an antique building originally used as a hospital, with easy access (no steep stairs to climb) from the quiet Calle Virtud.
The front door takes you to the stylish, vintage furnished dining/living area. You’ll be able to prepare your favorites meals in the fully equipped capa blanco (original Puerto Rican hardwood) kitchen.
The master bedroom (with a queen size bed), the teak bedroom (with double bed) and the bunk bedroom are located further in, facing the private patio which will keep your dreamy nights away from any street noise. The three bedrooms are equipped with AC, roller blinds and white cotton curtains. Every room has its own spacious closet.
A bright hallway takes you from the living area to the bedrooms, the private patio and the elegant marble tiled bathroom. The bathroom has enough room for one person to move comfortably around and has an excellent and relaxing tub/shower.
The patio is the perfect place for you to relax away from the street. There you’ll find table and chairs and a hammock.

Our guests will have exclusive access to the apartment and patio. It will be made accessible only 1 bedroom (or more if so agreed) for each 2 guests. For example, if you are a couple, you'll have the master bedroom only. If you are 2 guests and not a couple (and you don't wish to share the bed) we'll set up for you 2 separate rooms at no extra cost. This is to avoid unnecessary waste of water and soap for washing unnecessarily used bedsheets.
The kitchen is fully equipped also with basic products such as coffee, tea, sugar, salt, dish soap and others.
The bathroom has hot water and body soap, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner are supplied.

We live ten minutes away by car from Old San Juan and we will be at your disposal from 7am to 10pm for general inquiry or 24/7 for emergencies related to the unit. For emergencies regarding your person or one of the members of your group, kindly contact us and keep us up to date but first contact Emergency number 911.
We can help our guests suggesting them places to visit and/or contact certified tour guides.

Guests who choose to stay in Old San Juan will be able to visit a variety of historical sites by simply stepping out of the apartment. Moreover, throughout the year, the old town offers various cultural, music, food and art festivals.
For those who enjoy walking, we suggest a 3km astonishing seaside view walk; in front of the beautiful Muñoz Rivera Park you will find a comfortable and fully equipped beach @ El Escambrón.

The building in front of the apartment is and old market place nowadays used as a museum. Every Saturday morning, its market place origin is retaken to live. There you'll find a variety of organic and fresh local products such as fruits & veggies, bread, cheese, flowers, soaps and much more.

Everything in Old San Juan is at walking distance. However, there is a public free trolley that goes around the town.
There is a central bus station and several taxi points.
The most convenient way to travel from/to the airport is by taxi and/or a rented car.
If you choose to rent a car, please be aware that in Old San Juan you might experience some difficulties in finding a parking space in the street. Therefore, it's easier if to use public parking. There are several of them at different rates in town. The closest is @ 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

Driving from The International Airport Luís Muñoz Marin, follow the signs towards San Juan and enter the freeway Baldorioty De Castro/PR 26. Once you get to the town, take a right at Plaza Colón and enter Calle Norzagaray. Take a left at the Museum of San Juan in the Calle McArthur until the end of the street. Take a left in the Calle Virtud to the end. There you'll find your apartment!

If you travel with extra friends who won't fit in this apartment, you can check out our other one ( La Virtud https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5325867 ) in the same building. It fits 2 adults.

Once upon a time, during the inaugural trip of a cruise ship in the Adriatic Sea there was an on-board Italian photographer who met a young and beautiful Puerto Rican passenger. It was summer 2000.
The rest of their story tells about Carmen studying industrial design and living in Florence, Italy, while Stefano was studying photography and living in Bournemouth, England. They got married in 2003 in the middle of the Puerto Rican Rain Forest “El Yunque” in a 14 crazy hours wedding party.
They moved to Milan, Italy where they lived for three years. Carmen was still studying and Stefano working as a photographer. In 2007 they moved to San Juan, en La Isla Del Encanto and gave birth to their son.
Since then they have lived in the “Las Virtudes” apartment, had their daughter and Stefano from photography got into woodworking. In 2013/14 they moved back to Milan.
In August 2014 they decided to return to the island to start yet again the Caribbean adventure.
