À propos de ce logement
Airy, small 1st floor room, 1 of 3 rentals in the same house. Next to 1st floor bath. Centrally located in a quiet neighborhood. One-mile walk to Onota Lake. I love sharing my home, orienting people to "my" Berkshires, and warmly hosting my guests.
Five minutes from two Pittsfield theatre companies, galleries, Berkshire Museum, restaurants, cinema center, and Berkshire Medical Center. Ten minutes from Bousquet Ski slopes. Kripalu Yoga Center is in the adjoining town of Lenox. Beautiful Lake Onota is a few minutes' drive up the road, or a nice mile-long walk. Williams College, MCLA, Mass MoCA, and the Clark are just 30 - 45 minutes north.

Guests are welcome to share the living room/tv room, modern kitchen, dining room, and deck. I sleep and spend a lot of time in the basement family room/apartment, with my own bathroom down there.

I am semi-retired, home much of the time. In July and August, I lead Road Scholar tour groups who have come to experience the culture and beauty of the Berkshires, so am away from home long hours. I am familiar with restaurants, bike paths, trails, museums, and entertainment venues, so will happily serve as your "concierge."
I know almost every neighbor around me, and trust that they will be both friendly and helpful. They include two families with little boys, a grocer, a physical therapist, a former hospital IT worker, and a teacher.
The local bus service, Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) has pick-ups on corner of Woodbine and Onota as well as corner of Acorn and Lakeway. . It has very limited service at night and on weekends. If you are coming without a car, I strongly recommend you consider renting one in order to attend cultural venues at night and on weekends. I may also be able to provide contact information for a private driver.
The Peter Pan bus terminal and Amtrak train station is a little over a mile from the house. Whenever possible, I will be happy to pick you up there and return you there when your visit is done.
Pittsfield also has taxi service. (Arrow). (Rainbow).
There is parking in the driveway for one car, and safe on-street parking for more than that.
I can give you space in my garage for your bicycles.
I and another artist friend are often at work in the studio in the basement family room. Neither of us are painters, so there are no fumes. Kathy will be happy to answer your questions if she is here when I am not around. Just give a shout.
I welcome guests to enjoy my home, including the possibility of having friends over to share wine and snacks on the deck or indoors.
Working around the possible late hours of concert, dance performance, and play endings, I expect the house to be quiet by midnight.
Consideration of others in my home is expected and assumed. That means quiet conversations, earbuds for media use in bedrooms, and thoughtful use of shared bathrooms.
Guests should also be sure to lock the house when gone and to carry their own house keys for reentry.
No smoking in the house. Ok to smoke outside, with consideration of others.
I only ask that you leave your stay here with things as you found them, which I promise is clean and tidy. However, no need to make your bed, ok?

I am a collage artist who makes altered books, the coordinator of the local Road Scholar Program, a happy dog owner. I have lived in over 60 domiciles, in 5 states and 3 foreign countries. So I have a lot of flexibility, open mindedness, and sense of adventure.
