Le logement

Five minutes from two Pittsfield theatre companies, galleries, Berkshire Museum, restaurants, cinema center, and Berkshire Medical Center. Ten minutes from Bousquet Ski slopes. Kripalu Yoga Center is in the adjoining town of Lenox. Beautiful Lake Onota is a few minutes' drive up the road, or a nice mile-long walk. Williams College, MCLA, Mass MoCA, and the Clark are just 30 - 45 minutes north.

Accès des voyageurs

Guests are welcome to share the living room/tv room, modern kitchen, dining room, and deck. I sleep and spend a lot of time in the basement family room/apartment, with my own bathroom down there.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

I am semi-retired, home much of the time. In July and August, I lead Road Scholar tour groups who have come to experience the culture and beauty of the Berkshires, so am away from home long hours. I am familiar with restaurants, bike paths, trails, museums, and entertainment venues, so will happily serve as your "concierge."

Le quartier

I know almost every neighbor around me, and trust that they will be both friendly and helpful. They include two families with little boys, a grocer, a physical therapist, a former hospital IT worker, and a teacher.

The local bus service, Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) has pick-ups on corner of Woodbine and Onota as well as corner of Acorn and Lakeway. . It has very limited service at night and on weekends. If you are coming without a car, I strongly recommend you consider renting one in order to attend cultural venues at night and on weekends. I may also be able to provide contact information for a private driver.

The Peter Pan bus terminal and Amtrak train station is a little over a mile from the house. Whenever possible, I will be happy to pick you up there and return you there when your visit is done.

Pittsfield also has taxi service. (Arrow). (Rainbow).

There is parking in the driveway for one car, and safe on-street parking for more than that.

I can give you space in my garage for your bicycles.

Autres remarques

I and another artist friend are often at work in the studio in the basement family room. Neither of us are painters, so there are no fumes. Kathy will be happy to answer your questions if she is here when I am not around. Just give a shout.

Règlement intérieur

I welcome guests to enjoy my home, including the possibility of having friends over to share wine and snacks on the deck or indoors.

Working around the possible late hours of concert, dance performance, and play endings, I expect the house to be quiet by midnight.

Consideration of others in my home is expected and assumed. That means quiet conversations, earbuds for media use in bedrooms, and thoughtful use of shared bathrooms.

Guests should also be sure to lock the house when gone and to carry their own house keys for reentry.

No smoking in the house. Ok to smoke outside, with consideration of others.

I only ask that you leave your stay here with things as you found them, which I promise is clean and tidy. However, no need to make your bed, ok?

How do I even begin? Lynette is a warm, gracious, kind, smart, practical human being, and a shining example of what AirBNB should be. I first came to her with a somewhat tricky and challenging situation, and she went the extra mile in every instance to help me out. Her home is inviting, warm, sizable, and filled with every convenience a traveler might need. She's located conveniently and if you fancy a brisk 1-2 mile walk as I do, you will have much of Pittsfield's shopping and dining available to you after a stroll. If you're more a fan of a nice drive, thousands of rich cultural experiences await you in either direction - up to Williamstown and down to Great Barrington. Living in Lynette's home was a fantastic experience; I found there generosity, camaraderie, and great stories. It was an absolute privilege to live in Lynette's home for two months. I highly recommend that if you have the chance, take advantage of the opportunity to interact with this lovely woman, and let some of her light shine on you.

I booked a room for my friend, my kid's teacher while she came to visit him and Tanglewood. She loves the staying here and felt at home. Both she and I enjoyed the healthy and tasty breakfast. She would stay again next time in this area!

I literally spent hours searching for an ideal, yet affordable airbnb in the Berkshires before coming to a hesitant decision. The instant Lynette opened her home to me, I knew I had found the perfect place to spend a weekend within minutes of some of the greatest fine arts institutions of New England. Fully knowledgeable of these institutions (Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow to name a few), Lynette went above and beyond her duties as an airbnb host to inform me of the most detailed facts that I sought. Her immaculate home provided all the modern comforts that I desired: fast wifi, Smart TV, A/C, high-end toiletries, comfortable furniture for lounging/sleeping, and a well-appointed kitchen (I cooked two full dinners with ease). There was, however, one downside to my stay at Lynette's: having to say goodbye to her dog, Throttle. Thank you for the memorable weekend in Pittsfield, Lynette!

Lynette was a warm & gracious hostess! Her house was impeccable, quiet, peaceful, friendly, warm, inviting, comfortable, spacious and safe! Lynette was there to greet me and was very organized with pertinent information typed. There was an A/C & ceiling fan. Bed was comfortable. This was my first experience with Airbnb. So glad I tried it! Lynette was wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend her. I am already on her waitlist to return in the summer. Thank you so much!

I spent 3 and a half months living with Lynette and can honestly say that I did not once have a negative experience. She welcomed me into her home with open arms and provided me with anything and everything that I could have possibly needed while completing a summer internship in the Berkshires, from advice about a good doctor in the area to providing me with suggestions about good restaurants to visit. She always worked to ensure that my room was clean and comfortable and that I too felt comfortable in my summer home. I would highly recommend Lynette's home to anyone even remotely considering a stay in the Berkshires. Her home is inviting, clean, comfortable, and safe.

Lynette did an excellent job of making me feel welcome and at home for the first leg of my stay at her house. Her house, the room I rented, and the bathroom was clean, comfortable, and safe. Lynette provided me with tons of information about events and landmarks in the Berkshires and is extremely knowledgeable. Her dog, Throttle, is adorable and very well-behaved. She welcomed me to her home by making a delicious dinner and eating it with me. She also took the time out of her day to take me to the local lake and drove me around the town so that I could become better oriented to the area.
