Our studio is independent from the house and tucked away in our garden. It is accessed by our back gate.
Our cosy studio lies alongside the River Blyth in the market town of Halesworth. It is ideal as a base from which to explore the Suffolk coast, eight miles away, or just a quiet retreat to simply unwind and recharge.
It s hard to believe that this tranquil spot is so close to the town's pedestrianized Thoroughfare with a great choice of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Our hideaway has a remarkable history, in that it was used for regular poetry evenings in the summer of 1916 by members of the Bloomsbury set, who lived in nearby Wissett. We also have a twin and double room available in the house. We have a separate listing for this with Airbnb - 1903 Town House, Halesworth.
Parking is available by special request at the back of our house and we are sorry that we cannot automatically guarantee a space. You are welcome to drop off luggage round the back and then find a space elsewhere. We do have under cover storage for bikes in our garden.
We leave you to your own devices and privacy, but we do like to say hello and give you a warm welcome. The studio is accessible from the back of the house, with a short walk down the garden, so it is very quiet and private.
We love the town because it still retains the old fashioned friendly atmosphere with family run shops and pedestrianized street. There are 3 pubs, lots of cafes and a local theatre. We love biking on the cycle track and beyond and there are many wonderful walks. The coast is only 8 miles away.
There are regular buses to Southwold, Beccles (on the River Waveney Broads) Bungay and Norwich. There are hourly trains to Ipswich and Lowestoft (change at Ipswich for London.) Halesworth station is 5 minutes walk away.
We provide towels, linen and tea towels.

There is a decking area right outside the studio for you to enjoy and a 'secret' area shrouded by the weeping cherry opposite the studio with a bench for two. Guests are welcome to explore and sit in the garden to the right of the studio. The larger decking area to the left is for our family use.
We provide a starter breakfast of cereal, milk, freshly ground coffee and tea. The local Spar shop is a very short walk away and open from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm every day.
We're sorry we don't allow dogs.
Smoking is permitted in the garden.
There is room for a travel cot for an infant, but not for an extra bed for a child.
