What an amazing location! Probably one of the most stunning views of Costa Rica but certainly the best learning experience on sustainable living! The cooking of Marga is fantastic, make sure to eat there! You'll enjoy the nature and surroundings of this amazing finca! Un encanto for the mind and soul. I really enjoyed the tour of the finca and the approach/mindset on life. One day I hope to be back!

20 years ago Chema and Marga 'could see the way things were heading’ and decided to scour the planet for the perfect place to build a new home for a new life; sustainable and in harmony with their surroundings. When they found this beautiful hilltop location in Costa Rica they knew their search was over. The house they created here is a masterclass in elegant simplicity and (like Chema’s furniture) handcrafted using local materials. I’m sure I’m not the first to observe it's somewhat saucer-like appearance from further up the hill; somehow in this magical spot anything seems possible, even UFOs. For those with concerns about the lack of mains power rest assured there is nothing to worry about. You get used to candlelight and torch very quickly; actually it's kinda fun. Each room has its own bathroom with piping hot water and motion sensor controlled solar powered light; showering after dark is a breeze. Come supper time Marga weaves her magic. Using only ingredients from their organic vegetable garden and other local produce, she creates her culinary masterpieces. They will send you to bed satisfied, ready for a gloriously snug night’s sleep. Chema has had an amazing life and at 70 is still full of dreams and plans for the future, including a sustainability school for local young people. What a terrific inspiration, not just for the next generation of Costa Ricans, but for us too. This unique Airbnb experience is one I would recommend to any city slicker who's ever dreamt of selling up and going off-grid in paradise. Hell, I’d recommend it to all the others too, even those who have no intention of doing so. Come see what you’re missing!

We are native from Madrid, Spain. Residing in Costa Rica since 1976, following a sustanable way of life. We offer holistic health and sustainable practices seminars. We also offer horse back riding for experienced riders and nature hikes through the tropical forest and to the local waterfalls and pools.
For us to have a guest is a way to share our way of life, to promote a sustainable life and to make friends.
Our main object is two fold, first is to simplify our way of life by practicing sustainable techniques and regenerative activities; second is to be minimizing our impact on the planet, that is, that our ecological footprint would be less and as we see it, is about quality of life instead of standard of living.
