Quiet traditional Tatami room facing the Japanese garden. Located just out of the centre (about 10-15m by bus). Perfect for the people looking to an escape from a town or a break from chaotic travel schedule.
If you are in rush absorbing the new culture and prefer neons for excitements and fun in night life, Nara is probably not the best place for those. But if you appreciate slow time, non-touristy area or mid-break of the trip, this place could be somewhere you’re looking for.
Nara is filled with beautiful places. Just not that easy to get around and find right spots.
What this place can provide:
・Silence, sometimes complete silence!
・Birds singing and bathing
・Sunset from the balcony in the garden
・Occasionally a contact with local people (my dad)
・Moon watching next to sound of water drops.
What you can possibly plan here:
・Walk home through a temple, and you’re the only person there
・You might be tired of temples but the last temple with no tourist…?
・Half day trip to green tea fields and delicious lunch by my friend
・Even go deeper to the mountain in south of Nara for splendid spiritual air. No english speakers and enjoy “lost in translation” so you speak more with nature and animals. (*Recommended)
・Stay home. Reading, writing, drawing, playing a guitar and singing, or daydreaming (*Recommended)
Even if my description doesn’t fit the style of your travel but you’re still interested in staying at my place, you’re more than welcome!
Due to my job and lifestyle, I can open the reservations no more than about 1-2 months ahead, and thinking to welcome around 4-5 groups/ a month for now. Sorry for the inconvenience but look forward to meeting you all!

Hi! My name is Miyuki. I was born in Nara, Japan, and was always away from home - eager to see outside, and ended up living in London for almost 8 years. Now back to my origin and I realised that Nara is filled with beautiful places and discoveries.
But also many things related to visual arts. Web design, art direction, film festival, Interpreter, Interviewer, Editor... It's rather difficult to explain with a word.
all kinds/forms of old/new culture, arts, cuisines, fashion, music to make my life richer, philosophy, cosmology, smells of paper and rain, ironing a shirt, coffee&cigarette... and sweets!
when I lost the sense of time and enjoy the moment with friends or myself. And at last but not least, love and pain for photography and that's the core of my life.
