Warm and comfortable ground floor apartment w/two large bedrooms, each w/plush king size bed. Eclectically styled w/large patio. Quick 5 to 10 mins from downtown Portland and steps to the bus line. Sleeps up to 4 guests very comfortably. Considerate travelers looking for a relaxing place to stay in Portland are very welcomed. Note: the space is a private apartment (not the entire house); the hosts live upstairs in a separate apartment.
Enjoy a warm, comfortable, and private apartment to relax - with lots of eclectic details thrown in. Every room has its own personality, because who wants boring? This 800 square foot apartment is on the ground floor of our mid-century home (we live upstairs in a separate apartment). It's a great option for a nice group of friends, family, or couple looking for a relaxing space to come home to after exploring the city. (Important Notes: the space is not intended for groups looking for a place to party; Kitchenette is great for making simple meals, but does not have a stove or oven).
Enjoy two spacious bedrooms both with a plush king bed and dressers & closets for all your things, living room with full sofa hide-a-bed and plenty of comfy seating, large Smart TV (w/free access to cable channels, XFinity on-demand, Netflix, and Amazon Streaming), modern bathroom with glass wall shower and hair dryer, kitchenette, and washer and dryer for your use during your stay. You'll also enjoy your own private outdoor oasis, with huge patio featuring overhead string lights, hanging candles, and comfortable seating. Enjoy a view of the large treed and green back yard from the patio as well as through all the apartment windows.
The kitchenette is in its own separate large room, and features a sink, apartment size refrigerator and freezer (much bigger than a mini-fridge), microwave, Kuerig for coffee/tea, toaster, french press, dish ware and utensils (including a set for kids), and table and chairs that seat five. It works excellent for making simple meals and storing food, drinks, and groceries during your stay, although it is not setup for cooking complex meals (there is no stove and no oven).
KING BEDROOMS WITH PERSONALITY
Both bedrooms feature extra plush king size beds, perfect for rest and relaxation. If you like curling up with a good book, you'll love the "Bookworm" bedroom, where you can choose a book (many to choose from) on the shelf, curl up with a blanket on a large comfy chair, and turn down the lighting for a relaxing afternoon. There's also a desk if you need to do a bit of work on your trip. We affectionately refer to the other bedroom as the "Glam" room as it features a crystal light fixture that projects a cascading light pattern down all the walls, calming photography, and french provincial & antique styling.
If you need a third bed, let us know. We'll prepare a full size hide-a-bed in the living room that's easy to pop out when you're ready to hit the hay. Note: this is your typical sofa hide-a-bed. It's not extra plush like the king beds, but works great when you have a larger group of people and need a third bed. The full sofa bed can fit up to two people if needed.
Accès des voyageurs
You'll enjoy access to a completely private two bedroom apartment suite on the ground floor of our mid-century Portland home. You can park directly in front of the house on the street and enter the apartment through a door in the back yard. This is a private entrance that will be used only by you during your stay. We'll provide you with a code to access a key in the lock box. You'll also enjoy a huge private patio with comfortable seating and expansive back yard area that you will have full use of.

We're happy when our guests are happy and have everything they need! If you would like to meet us, we'd love to say hi and help you get settled in. If you prefer more privacy, we're happy to make sure you have everything you need and just be available for questions or needs that may arise.
We're located very close to the heart of the city, which means you'll hear traffic noise when outside (including from the nearby interstate). Our house is well insulated, so it's more quiet and comfortable when you're inside.
Parking is free and available right in front of the house. We're on a dead-end street (another plus for privacy), so you'll need to back up into our driveway to turn around when you leave to explore the city. Quick and easy, but worth mentioning.
Entry into the apartment is down a sloping path around the side of the house and up a few stairs in the backyard. It's clearly lit at night and an easy path for most people, but please note if you have balance issues or need special accommodations this probably isn't the best place for your stay.
This is a private apartment on the ground floor and we live upstairs. You will likely hear footsteps on occasion, although ambient noise (voices/TV/music) does not usually carry between the spaces (up or down) due to great insulation. We keep noise to a minimum late in the evening and early morning to not disturb you. :)
The thermostat is located upstairs. We keep the house at a comfortable temperature day and night, but if you need us to make any adjustment simply send us a text or call us.

Hello! We're Heath and John. A little about us: Heath works in Public Relations and John works in Marketing. When we aren't working, we love to travel and to meet new and interesting people. When in Portland, we love to explore the unique neighborhoods the city has to offer, while enjoying a great meal, drinks, or catching a show with fantastic friends. It is one of our great pleasures in life to play "great hosts" and Airbnb allows us the opportunity to do so, in addition to meeting wonderful people along their travels.
