We really enjoyed our 3 nights perched high above the Gorge. Stunning! We plan to return to sink further into all the area offers. We biked, kayaked, hiked, dined in Hood River and White Salmon... and still didn't get to all we had on our list! The barn apartment is so nicely done. Beautiful. Cooking was easy and everything is set up for actually living there. A small touch that won my heart is all the coat hooks in the hallway and in the bathroom - plenty of hooks to hang everything! (So smart and many places don't think of that.) The bed incredibly comfy - liked it better than our own new one. Plenty of closets and dresser space too, you can really settle in. The views out every window are so beautiful. We had the lushness of springtime, so things were so green and the many types of flowers on the walk to the swimming hole and little pioneer cemetery were in their prime. David and LaVonne were very helpful - and even treated me to a birthday bottle of lovely wine. When Lenny got a tick, LaVonne found us all the first aid tools to remove it. All in all we had nice interactions and conversations without it being intrusive. The sounds of trains and the highway do flow up the hill, but after a bit we didn't really notice it. The spectacular views and privacy stand out the most. Lovely area, super nice apartment, great hosts - what more could you ask for?

Great place. Nice views from the deck of the river. Access the Mosier Plateau from your door. Ride bicycles through the Mosier twin tunnels on you way to Hood river then enjoy a cider and pizza at Rack and Cloth.

Our second stay here for our anniversary was just as wonderful as the first. We loved the cozy and clean apartment, hiked the trails around the property, and relaxed on the deck overlooking the Columbia. David and Lavonne are amazing hosts--- they stayed out of sight so we had lots of privacy but were available when needed. We love this spot and can't wait to come back.

David and LaVonne were the perfect hosts. The barn apartment was absolutely charming and the view was incredible. My only regret was that I wasn't able to spend much time there since I was in town for a wedding. I do plan to come back again; the time I did spend there was peaceful and relaxing.

David and LaVonne were so gracious and hospitable throughout the process of booking, arrival, and our stay. I cannot say strongly enough what a beautiful and well cared for apartment this is. They also invited us to have coffee with them in the morning which was just lovely. The location is stunning with beautiful vistas of the Columbia Gorge and a hiking trail right next to the property with views of a waterfall. Hood River is an easy and quick drive and has plenty of options for dining and shopping. This apartment is a great find!

This was our first experience in renting a AirBNB. I must say, David and LaVonne were amazing! Arrival: David and Lavonne met us when we arrived, David gave us a detailed tour of our apartment and the rest of the property. David was extremely friendly, and a pleasure to speak with. the apartment: It was fantastic! we were on a second story, so when the windows were open we still had our privacy. It was extremely clean, and very nicely put together. David left us a bottle of wine and two bottles of beer. the bedroom was fantastic, with a nice memory foam bed to sleep on. The view of the gorge was simply amazing. I can honestly say, when we come back to the area, we will plan our trip around the availability of David and LaVonne's property. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else. Book with confidence! it was an amazing experience!

Profil utilisateur de David & LaVonneDavid & LaVonne est un Superhost.

David and Lavonne are retired educators. David was a University Professor in Community & Regional Planning. Lavonne was a Primary School teacher. They both enjoy skiing and for their first 14 years of retirement they taught skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho.
When they retired (2000) they sold their family home in Eugene, Or. and moved to the Columbia River Gorge for more sunshine, windsurfing, skiing, fishing, biking and outdoor work tending their 7.5 acres of cherry orchard and natural growth Pine and Oak trees. To support their love for outdoor activities and continue to improve their Mosier acreage they rent two independent lodging spaces separate from their Main House to seasonal visitors to the Columbia River Gorge. Over the years their renters have become part of their "family" with whom they keep in touch in the off-season months.
The Poveys love "their place on the hill" because it is such a peaceful, lovely setting with great river views and easy access to the river, bike paths, excellent fishing streams and miles of biking trails. Their home is only 5 miles from Hood River and 12 miles from The Dalles where good shopping, excellent food and a broad array of urban services are available. The Poveys are always available to answer questions about the area and to offer advice about Gorge adventures. They enjoy our privacy and extend that opportunity to all our guests who visit and stay on the property.
