In Lamu island old town on the seafront, secure, close to museums, banks, Ocean
This is a strategic place to plug into the rich Lamu culture, right next to the jetty and on the beach front. The only expense was a bit of noise from the nearby mosque but for short periods of time, to me, acceptable. Ivor and his team were swift to action and excellent hosts, no complaints there. Choice of local food was in abundance along the sea front, pleasantly surprising
Amazing spot in Lamu. As a first time traveller to the area, i had a few sceptical issues, but all my insecurities wete cast aside by the perfect host, and an awesome location. The rooms are as shown, and look over the pier where u can get a boat to anywhere. Restaurants are all within 10 minutes walking distance from Petleys and tgere is an iconic rooftop bar, pool, and lots of space. Ivor helped arrange transport bto different areas of the island at only 500KSH for your own boat one way. If sharing with locals its cheaper. Amazing stay... I mean you then get to brag that you stayed at Kenya's oldest hotel. #highlyrecomended
Our host sent some one to come meet us at the airport, and a boat to take us to his place. Staff helpful and friendly. Lamu is a laid back town and is a good place to just relax. Our rooms faced the jetty this providing a beautiful breeze. Lots of funfare during the day but very quiet from 8am.
Ivor was great arranged for my pick up form the airport by boat and was then shown to the property. Petleys inn is a bit dated but pretty decent as a budget stop in Lamu. The room was clean and bug spray was provided in the room as well as a fan. The rooftop bar was pretty enjoyable and the DJ on the friday was fantastic. The pool was also available for a dip after a long and hot day. The location is greta right at the seafront and close to restaurants and the jetty. Ivor was a great host and inquired at each stop to make sure i was comfortable during my stay
