Description

This romantic self contained open plan barn is full of quirky charm! In the heart of the village with two country pubs and conveniently opposite the Spar shop. Double bed (190cm L x 135cm W) upstairs and two singles/sofas below. Separate shower/wc. Private courtyard and off road parking.

Beautiful grade 2 listed Georgian property with original Blue Lias flagstone flooring and a stunning exposed wattle and daub wall. Lovely mix of old and new beams and large screen window overlooking your private courtyard. Ideally suited for a romantic break away. The barn, apart from a separate shower room/wc, is all open plan.

The bedroom area on the mezzanine floor is limited to space as it is in the eaves of the roof. As you will see from the photos, the bed is very close to the top step and therefore extra care should be taken whilst getting in and out of bed. The apex of the roof is not a million miles away and again care should be taken not to bump your head! There are 2 roof light windows, one of which is a fire escape window and we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the workings in the event of a fire.

There are two single beds on the ground floor which also double up as sofas during the day with plenty of cushions for extra comfort.

All bed linen and towels are provided. We appreciate your help so that we do not have to wash items unnecessarily - anything that has not been used, i.e. pillows or towels, should be left neatly and quite separately from those used items.

The barn is not ideal for small children/toddlers as there are many stairs and areas where little ones may come a cropper! Also being open plan means there is no quiet area as such. We do not have either a cot or high chair or suitable bathing facilities.

The kitchen area has a table (seats 4), kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and sink. There is no cooker.

The barn has it's own entrance and porch with coat hooks and space for wellies.

There is a parking space on the property (under the pergola) and directly outside the barn. Access to the driveway is a little tight but there is a reversing space so that you can leave the property going forward!

Being on the corner of the High Street and a residential road means that inevitably you will hear some local traffic.

If there is no one at home to greet you, the key to the barn will have been left for you in a pre-arranged secret place!

In the event of any mishap, Sally, Michael or their friend and neighbour, Liz, can be contacted - all contact details are on the website.

Any guests needing to use our washing machine/tumble dryer are very welcome - please just ask!

Please ask if you wish to stay beyond the printed departure time of 11.00 a.m. If we do not have guests coming in that day, we are happy for you to stay on until later in the day. All very relaxed!

Sally or a member of her family will be here to greet you and show you around and answer any questions you may have about the accommodation or the village. A welcome larder of breakfast goodies will be waiting for you on arrival. Please let me know if you have any particular likes/dislikes when booking such as full fat milk or whole meal bread..... we like to please. Sally and Michael (and their "twenty something" kids when they are home) live in the house next door so are generally available if needed for any reason.

Badsey is a very friendly village with good local walks, two village pubs and a well stocked grocery shop.
Evesham, only two miles away, has a wide selection of restaurants, shops and a wonderful Art Deco cinema.
Badsey is well placed for racing enthusiasts (Cheltenham,Stratford Upon Avon and Worcester) and all things Shakespearen (museums and theatres) also at Stratford.
Within a short drive are the idyllic Cotswold villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden.

Regular buses into Evesham, and First Great Western trains from Evesham and Honeybourne.

The barn rate is subject to a price increase during Cheltenham Gold Cup Week, Christmas and Easter - please enquire.

Breakfast things provided on your arrival:
Tea
Coffee
Milk
Orange juice
Cereal
Bread, butter and jam
Fresh fruit
Yoghurts

The double bed on the mezzanine is a low level bed with the apex of the roof a matter of feet away -beware!

The barn is NOT ideal for families with small children as there is no separate bedroom - it is all open plan. There are also many stairs/steps and hard floors.

Règlement intérieur
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait à partir de 15:00

No pets unless by prior agreement and definitely not allowed upstairs or on any furniture.
No smoking indoors. There is an ashtray provided in the courtyard for smokers.
No parties - well, unless we're invited!

The barn was beautifully furnished and was a lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a break in a quiet, but not remote, area.

Stayed at the barn for a couple of days on a business trip. Sally was quick in response, first with my initial check in request, as well as a couple of queries I had. I was also asked if I had a preference of what breakfast stuff I required. Brown or which bread. What kind of milk etc. The barn itself has an excellent feel to it. If possible I'd take it home to put out my back as a den/man cave!!! I'd highly recommend this place. And hope to stay again in the near future.

Sally wonderful barn is a great find for anyone wanting to visit The Cotswold area. This delightful, carefully renovated and private space was ideal to relax away form home. The accommodation is exactly how it is described by Sally and see lovely little touches through the barn and really feel the warmth of her welcome. We will be staying again!!

The barn was absolutely perfect! Just the right size for two people, and very cozy. Sally's attention to detail makes the place really unique. We found the barn warm enough and loved snuggling up on the cozy sofa area. Sally was a lovely host and very helpful and everything we needed was in the barn or the manual. The breakfast provided was amazing. A huge selection and we struggled to get through it all! The local area is beautiful and I definitely recommend visiting the Fleece Inn if you stay.

Great and friendly communication, lovely barn, and very helpful (even picking us up at Evesham station). The barn is nicely decorated, has everything you need, and the couch is the perfect place to come to rest and read a nice book. The surroundings are beautiful for walks as well!
