The unit we rented had everything you would need except food. I highly recommend you bring as much food as possible with you. There is food on the island, but very expensive. We had a wonderful time and are planning another trip.

When I first decided to go to Adak for part of a vacation, there wasn't too much information out there, nor was it easy to figure out where to stay until I hit airbnb. I chose to book one of Debra's units on the island, which was probably a great thing! I had plenty of questions in advance, and she answered all of those and provided me with a few tips. She also made sure I had transportation to and from the airport, and made sure I had a town map and the cheat sheet for all the local sites. Before I left for Adak, I told all my coworkers and friends that I was going to be staying in "Abandoned Navy Housing", but it was far from it! There had been some updates made to the unit, including wooden floors, and the unit was fully stocked with cooking supplies, including some odds and ends of food (which thankfully, I didn't need to break into, but I did leave a pack of tuna salad and crackers for the next guest!). The one bed I slept in (I think there were 5 or so total throughout the unit) was comfortable enough, so no complaints there. I had a number of conversations with her during my stay and learned quite a bit about Adak, and she was nice enough to also share some fresh halibut at lunch on my last day there. Overall, I would highly recommend booking one of her two units on Adak!

Adak is an unusual destination but we loved it. Debra was a great host. her rental cars were unavailable/broken down, but she found a vehicle for us to rent so it was all arranged before we got there. thehouse is completely set up for visitors. All we brought was good and clothes and we were set!!! We'd definitely stay there again.
