À propos de ce logement
San Francisco is chock full of charm and so is this private room in one of San Fran's best neighborhoods. Here you're just steps away from a sweet little park, three cafes, an organic market and buses that will take you downtown in minutes.
Everything about this space is designed to make you feel at home. It's private--you have your own entrance from the street and out into the back yard. But it's also communal--you can come on in through the front door, and your room is just off the living room, so you can open up and hang out whenever you want. This is our second Airbnb space, so we have lots of experience making guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Accès des voyageurs
While you visit, you'll have access to our shared bathroom, living room, kitchen, eating area and beautiful deck with table, chairs and lounge chairs.
There will be a supply of breakfast items available for you, and you're welcome to stash your own things in the fridge and cupboards, too.
There's cable TV in your room and in the living room, and you can access the internet from the house, deck and yard. Your room also has a dresser, a desk and a closet, so you can make yourself at home. There is a washer and dryer on site; ask for a quick tutorial and you're welcome to use them during your stay.

I work from home most days and Kevin rehearses here sometimes, so one or the both of us will often be in the space throughout the day. We welcome the chance to talk over a cup of coffee depending on our schedule and yours. We also try to make ourselves available to answer any questions you have and offer recommendations on restaurants, music venues, sights and activities.
The great thing about our neighborhood is that it's quiet and charming, but you can walk just a few blocks and be in the hustle and bustle of the Mission.
There is a park at the bottom of our street with a coffee shop at one end (breakfast & lunch) and a café (breakfast, lunch & dinner) at the other. In between is a small, well-reviewed supper club and across from that a corner store that features organic items and local produce.
At the top of our street is a set of stairs that lead up to Bernal Hill, which offers a magnificent view of the city and of Oakland to the east. On a clear day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge at one end and the Bay Bridge at the other.
I take public transportation all the time, and I think it's really easy to get around from our place.
We are just two blocks from the 67 bus that will take you into the Mission and to the 24th Street BART station. You can also walk to BART--it's an easy 10-minute walk from the house.
At the bottom of our street is a stop for the 27 bus. This bus takes you right into the center of the city (Union Square, cable cars, museums).
You can walk about five blocks to get the 14 or the 49 bus. The 14 bus line runs up and down Mission Street with stops that put you right near the cable cars and Union Square and at the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero. The 49 bus can take you to City Hall and ends at North Point near Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf.
If you're coming directly here from the airport, you can take a cab for about $40. Otherwise, you can easily take BART from the airport. A one-way ticket costs $8.25, and you can board the train at the station located at the International Terminal. Exit the train at the 24th Street BART station. From there you can make the 10-minute walk to the house, or you can take the 67 bus (exit at Bessie Street) and walk two blocks to the house, or you can grab a cab for a quick ride to our location.
If you have a car, you can find parking in the neighborhood fairly easily. Our street does not have street cleaning, so there's no need to worry about moving your vehicle on certain days of the week.
Treat all animals kindly. Our pets are family, and we expect guests to treat them with gentleness and consideration.
We cannot accommodate additional pets. We're already rather full up with animals here, so unfortunately we cannot welcome any more pets.
Smoking is not permitted. There is no smoking at all in the main house, your room, the deck or yard.
Please limit late night/early morning noise. If you come back to the house after 10 p.m. or are up before 8 a.m., please keep the noise to a minimum.
No additional guests. Please do not bring friends, relatives or acquaintances back to the house. Under no circumstances is an additional person allowed to sleep in the room. Accommodations are for one person only.

I'm a bit of a Jack of All Trades--teacher/writer/event planner/crafter and am excited to be adding Airbnb host to the list! I have a wonderful partner, Kevin, and we've got an adorable Wirehaired Terrier mix pup named Strummer who completes our family. In our free time, we love taking Strummer on outings but also take off on our own to bike along the Embarcadero, out at Ocean Beach or through Golden Gate Park. I'm crazy for thrift stores, flea markets and craft fairs and know all the best ones in the area. I also keep tabs on the free "happenings" in the city--there are a lot, and I love the chance to check out new and interesting things I might never have tried otherwise. I aspire to be a great flower gardener but seem to always fall short--I consistently kill a couple of plants each season, but that doesn't stop me from trying :) Our deck is full of flowers, and I've got my fingers crossed for a successful season this year. Tulips and peonies are two of my favorites, but I'm a sucker for anything purple, too. I also enjoy reading--most recently "The Paris Wife" and "Hotel Pastis" (a bit of a French-ish phase, I guess) and my favorite shows seem to all be on HBO--"Girls," "Veep" and "True Detective," but I also like "Episodes" and all the makeover shows on HGTV.
As hosts, Kevin and I try to make guests as comfortable as possible and try to take our cues from them as far as how much interaction they'd like to have. We're super happy to give recommendations on everything from restaurants to music venues (Kevin's a professional musician, so he's on top of all that) to great places to visit in and out of town. Overall, we want people to feel at home and well-looked-after and to feel as though they've discovered a special place in the city by staying with us.
