LGBTQ friendly. Hosts, toddler, and dog live upstairs. Hosts are pretty quiet, but the toddler makes toddler noises.

Our downstairs apartment has its own private entrance and a nice view of the woods out back.

The apartment includes
- A private bedroom with full-sized bed, closet
- Bathroom with tub and shower
- Kitchenette (two-burner stove, sink, and mini-fridge)
- Small table and chairs for dining/coffee/work
- Couch and comfy chair in the living/yoga room.

We can blow up a full-sized aerobed if you have more than two people in your party, but ask for an additional $15/person for more than two guests.

We have wifi but no cable or television.

You'll get a gift card for Sunny Point. All guests will have coffee, tea, creamer, and a mini-fridge full of beer and wine available on the honor system.

We live in a co-housing community and share the grounds with our neighbors. Tours of the community can be arranged ahead of time. Otherwise we ask that you not wander the community, just out of courtesy toward our neighbors.

Private entrance to downstairs apartment, which includes a bedroom with full-size bed, bathroom, living/yoga room, and kitchenette with mini-fridge. We ask that folks respect our neighbors and not wander the community. Guided tours can be arranged with some notice.

We just like to meet you, but will otherwise leave you alone.

You'll be in the heart of West Asheville - a neighborhood of artists, musicians, young families, and all the color for which Asheville is beloved. Though we are in the heart of West Asheville, our block is very quiet and chill.

We're within a short walk of:
- West Asheville Yoga Studio
- Local pubs (Universal Joint, Westville Pub, Altamont Brewery, WALK, Isis)
- Very, very good coffee (Odd's Cafe, Waking Life)
- Darn good food (West End Bakery, Isis, Sunny Point).

In addition to everything within a 1.5-mile walking radius, we're a quick drive from downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, all the local breweries, and the French Broad River at Carrier Park (where you can put your kayak or tubes in and float all day).

You'll find ample available street parking in the neighborhood. Buses are available within a 5-min. walk.

Heat is radiant floor heat, so cannot be quickly adjusted. We usually keep it around 72 during the winter. If you'd like it warmer or cooler, please let us know ahead of time so we can set it with enough time for the space to adjust. There is no A/C but we do provide window fans -- those and the ceiling fans tend to do the trick.

Règlement intérieur

Pas de fête ni de soirée
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait après 15:00

We've been getting a lot of reservation requests from brand new Air BnB members who haven't bothered to fill out their profiles. Please fill out your profile. This is our home and we want to be able to do some sort of screening before we say yes. A photo helps, as do the various verifications and a short bio. We're unlikely to feel comfortable welcoming you into our guestroom for several days if all we have to go on is a first name, as you probably wouldn't if it were your house.

We live upstairs and work fairly normal schedules M-F (one of us works from home), and also have a toddler, so just ask that you not be loud past 9 p.m.

Since this is a co-housing community, where we are close with our neighbors, we ask that you respect the grounds and property -- close the gate when you come and go, etc.

Mini-fridge honor bar have beer and wine available for suggestion of $3/drink. $10 full six-pack or wine bottle.

More than two people are welcome, however there will be a $15/person per night fee for each additional person beyond two.

I'm a writer and magazine editor, and I live in a co-housing community in West Asheville. I moved here from Seattle, WA, in 2010 to write a book about a woman who used folk music to empower communities toward social justice back in the 1930s-50s. I cover folk/roots/Americana music and am happy to talk about it ad nauseam. My wife is a family doctor and our two-year-old daughter is big into dogs, firetrucks, and books. We're all into good local food, acoustic music, exercise, and traveling. Most of our travel time these days is domestic, visiting friends and family all over the country. But, we also know the value of a good do-nothing beach vacation.

Five things I can't live without (aside from food, water, etc): family, friends, time to relax, time to be creative, travel/exploration.
