Sue was great! She accommodated to me arriving very late in the night and was so nice about the entire stay! She made sure I had everything I needed! Her and her husband are such amazing people and are living the dream! The entire place is beautiful and is great if you want to get away from it all and take in all the beauty of this beautiful earth and beautiful Oregon! Sue even knew when to appropriately "step out" to give quiet time to enjoy the morning and breakfast (which is provided!). Loved the place and totally enjoyed Sue!

Neil and Sue were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped out of our car onto their gorgeous property, (which is even more spectacular than the photo is able to capture!) to our last goodbye two mornings later. They provided a bonfire the first evening and an amazing breakfast each morning accommodating our request for vegetarian food. We thoroughly enjoyed becoming acquainted with them as well as the other guests. The upstairs bedroom was comfortable with large windows on two sides overlooking the vineyard and with a nice cross-breeze. The bathroom was very spacious with an additional half bath available. It was exhilarating to walk the perimeter of the land and take in the view from the farthest corners overlooking the hills and valleys below. We especially liked being able to pick ripe, delicious cherries from the trees and appreciated Sue packing up a bag of them for the road. Sue is truly a natural at all aspects of hospitality and thought of everything she possibly could to make our stay truly enjoyable, including calling in advance to find out if we had any special needs. This place went far beyond meeting our expectations and we will definitely return if ever we are in the Portland area again and will recommend it to friends.

This B & B location is wonderful! Sue, the hostess, is charming and does a wonderful job of making her guests feel at home. The country hilltop setting is amazing. It's a quick trip into Corvallis which itself is a lovely spot to visit. Our breakfast was lovingly prepared by Sue herself and was delicious. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Should we find a future time where we need lodging in this part of Oregon we will definitely stay at this B & B again. Thank you Sue!

Our stay with Sue and Neil was absolutely perfect! We were only there for one night, but it was a most memorable experience. Received a warm welcome upon arrival--it was late in the evening and Sue was still baking a cinnamon coffee cake. Our bed was very comfortable; the large bathroom offered a variety of soaps and soaks and a wonderful shower. We woke up to the happy chirping of finches on the lawn, and only then saw the breathtaking views of the mountains and valley that surround their property. Sue made us a delightful breakfast with a tasty frittata, fresh orange juice and coffee, and the decadent cake she had baked the evening before. As a guest, you feel their love for the land and their connection to the community and its history. We hope to return soon, and perhaps witness the first sizable grape harvest in the fall of the vines that surround their home.

We moved to the Willamette Valley in 2010 and after almost a year of searching for a home out in the country, found a six acre, hilltop property in the Village of Alpine, located west of Monroe, Oregon. Before moving in, it was suspected the lawn and pasture areas on the property might be a suitable habitat for bluebirds. As a pleasant introduction to our new residence, we were greeted by several families of bluebirds the very day we unloaded the moving van and moved into the house. As a well-known symbol for happiness, we welcomed and acknowledged our bluebird neighbors by naming our property “Bluebird Hill”. Daily, we are greeted by our bluebirds and other friendly birds that frequent our feeders.

In 2011, we began to clear overgrown Christmas trees from what was formerly a tree farm. It became immediately apparent to us that our property was particularly well-suited to become a wine grape vineyard. Our location in the valley is surrounded by commercial wine grape producers in all different directions, and our hilltop location, soil, and southern aspect all contribute to making our property an excellent site to grow grapes. A small block of grapevines was planted in 2013 followed by more in the next three years. We hope to produce wine from these grapes when they mature, including the flagship wine of Oregon, Pinot noir. In the meantime, we are purchasing fruit from other Willamette Valley growers to make our wines.  We opened our winery tasting room Memorial Day weekend 2016 and would love to share our wines with you during your visit.

Neil continues his employment at Oregon State University as a professor of Food Science, while Sue serves as your hostess at Bluebird Hill Farm B&B and Cellars. We, and our bluebirds look forward to sharing our comfortable country home and panoramic views with you and your traveling companions!
