Le quartier

The exact location of our houses is a small gathering of buildings called Corgo do Vale. It is too small to be called a village, but still offers one of the best restaurants in the area Tasca do Petrol. Their specialty is local, traditional cuisine. There is also a small convenience store accross the road, with freshly baked bread most mornings.

From the house you have plenty of nice walks to do. The famous walk "Via Algarviana" is just a few minutes walking from the house.
The beaches on the west coast are 30 minutes driving.
The village of Monchique is 15 minutes driving.
The nearest village is Marmelete and it is 5 minutes driving.

Bravo a notre hôte.

A really lovely, rustic and secluded mountain villa we thoroughly enjoyed. Some confusion at check in since this place operates more of a classic hostel/bnb where guests pay per room and even if you have rented a whole cottage (3 total) some spaces like the kitchen are potentially shared. However, the hosts were kind and through some blend of Portuguese, Spanish, and English we managed to sort things out. In the winter this may be a bit chilly as we weren't able to plug in all the heaters due to the fuse blowing, but there was a really cozy fireplace the host was kind to supply with firewood - just not enough to heat the house to "city" standards. Of course this is totally worth it with the mountain villa experience and under the blankets (hosts were kind to provide extra) we were very warm. Light sleepers may also want to pack earplugs as there was a good choir of dog barking in the vicinity. Other pluses include fresh baked bread and breakfast essentials included, good hot showers, excellent and friendly local restaurant across the street, and a vivid starry night sky.

Sehr nette Begrüßung und sehr schön hergerichtet moderne Zimmer, die aber dabei den Charakter des alten Hauses nicht verloren haben.

Lindo - Lindo - Lindo We spent one night at Maria's place. Due to our schedule we had to move on - otherwise we would have stayed longer. It is a beautiful place with clean rooms and a picturesque view from the balcony. We even got a little breakfast and there is a good restaurant just across the street. Thank you very much for the wonderful time and great hostility!

Maria was unfortunately absent when we arrived. We could get in the house thanks to other guests only. But there is a wonderful view on the mountains.

Hi. My name is Maria and I was born in Casa da Terra that now is part of my family run B&B Horta do Zé Miguel. I worked in a bank during more than 30 years and the last few years I started this family business with the support of my family. I am very glad to open the doors of our little paradise to anyone who is interested to spend time in the nature. Come and enjoy the nature around. Help us if you want taking care of the lemon trees and the vegetables. We are happy to give you some tips about the walks you can do do on the area.
Hope to see you soon.
