Description

Vaulted room with comfy queen bed. Private bath. WiFi/Fridge/Microwave. Close-in NE. Walk to Conv Ctr, Moda, Coliseum, Wonder Ball Rm, Lloyd Ctr, Brewpubs, downtown. More. Close to streetcar, buses, max, Amtrak. Free street parking/on-site parking.

One or two adults are most comfortable in this space. You have a private bedroom and a spacious private bathroom. The bed is extra comfy; it is comfor-pedic queen size bed that has a massage feature; and the head and feet can be raised. In your room is a microwave; refrigerator; plenty of closet and dresser space; and you have your own key to come and go as you please. The spacious bathroom right next to your bedroom is fully equipped, and is exclusively for your use. Free on street parking is available. In the back is a patio with ample seating. If you smoke, feel free to smoke on the patio.

Not only do you have your own key to keep with you, but outside is a key box so you can never be locked out; you can always access your space whether we are home or not. Our guests freely come and go anytime of the day or night. If you are arriving late at night--no problem. And if you need to leave your things for the day after you check out, no problem. You can arrive any time of the day or night and we will accommodate you. We want you to feel comfortable and welcome!

Some guests enjoy relaxing and sharing a drink in front of our living room fireplace or inviting other guests to join them on the back patio. We have shared many wonderful and interesting conversations with our guests and I thoroughly enjoy hosting those who come!

In addition, we are close to all public transportation--the max (train), the streetcar, buses, Amtrak station. Many of our guests arrive by plane-- take the redline max from the airport; get off at the Convention Center and we are a 12 min walk away. We are 2 blocks to the streetcar--hop on it and go downtown. Downtown is also close enough to walk (we have done it many times). Some of our guests arrive on Amtrak, and the station is a 15 min walk across the Broadway Bridge. I-5 is also close and easy to access--if you have a car.

We are excited to host you! Most important is that you feel comfortable and welcome. Our home is your home. If you like your privacy, we will not disturb you. If you want to chat it up, we love to chat. If you need any assistance, directions, etc., we are glad to assist. We work and are busy, but we enjoy making time to meet your needs, Sometimes we have yoga classes in the living room.

I love this neighborhood because it is filled with energy, breweries, cider pubs, coffee shops, eateries, more--all within close walking distance. The neighborhood is called Eliot and it is a desirable area because of the close-in location, easy access to public transportation, biking, and walking. Around the corner is the "Bike Farm" where you can get help to work on your bike for $5 an hour. (They are fabulous assistants.) Around the other corner is Reverend Nat's Cider.

Eliot is a re-claimed close-in neighborhood that is still in transition. There are no high rises in this area, but it is high density with a mix of business and homes. Across the street is a Pensione. There are "colorful" people walking the streets, but as a woman, I feel safe walking alone both day and night.

Within a few blocks of your room, you have access to the max (metro train), the street car, buses, and Amtrak. In addition, you can walk to New Seasons Grocery, Widmer Brewery (as well as many other breweries), Reverend Nat's Hard Cider, Wonder Ball Room, downtown Portland, Mississippi, Broadway, Irvington, the river walk, the White Eagle where they often have music and dancing. More. We look forward to hosting you!!

If you plan on attending an event at the Convention Center, Moda, or the Coliseum, it is an easy 10 minute walk from here. If you have a car, and cannot find a space on the street, we have space on the grass on the side of the house where you can park your car, if necessary, so you won't have to concern yourself with finding or paying for parking to attend an event.

In your room are maps, a walking book of Portland, restaurant suggestions, etc. so that you can more easily find your way and do what you choose. -HO

My home is your home while you are here. My goal is to accommodate your needs and make you feel most welcome! You have your own key to keep with you so that you can come and go as you please. If you want to chat, need directions, or have any other requests, I love accommodating my guests! If you prefer privacy, no problem. If you plan to arrive late, I will leave the back door unlocked and the light on so you have easy access. There is also a key box by the back door so that you will never be locked out.
If you smoke, feel free to enjoy it on the back patio. Tea and Coffee are provided in your room along with a microwave and a refrigerator. Around the corner is the satellite version of Pine Street Biscuits--considered by some to be one of the best breakfasts in town. Also around the other corner is Tiny's Coffee Shop, which has great coffee and affordable breakfasts. This area is inner city and is very close to all forms of public transportation. Within short walking distance is a myriad of restaurants, breweries, cideries, and more. I love this inner-city area and hope you will too!

We had a great time at Rose and Roger's house in Portland! The neighborhood was great, lots of restaurants and bars nearby. It was also very close to transport and downtown. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom had everything you would need. Rose and Roger were very welcoming. Definitely recommend staying here on your visit to Portland!

Rose is a very sweet and warm person. Her home is really comfortable. The bathroom was fully stocked and the bed was extremely comfortable. Rose made my friend and I feel very welcome into her home. There is so much to do nearby all within walking distance. When I come back to Portland, I will definitely stay at Rose's place.

I never saw myself as an "inn-keeper", but I LOVE hosting for Airbnb. We have had the most wonderful people from all over-- and I am honored to have them in my home.

I am a life-long learner. I love to laugh. And, I love to dance. And, I love the Portland breweries, pubs, and coffee shops. If you love dance, music, food, or drink, I would certainly love to share my favorite places. Many are within walking distance.
