We offer two separate suites with a private shared patio. Both rooms comfortably fit two guests in Queen bed. Located in a Malibu mountaintop estate. Hiking trails, 8 minutes to the beach and Malibu center.
Recently a guest asked if their son could share the room and we were able to accommodate the guests with an extra single bed and it worked really well.
Rancho Chiquita is located atop a mountain with sweeping views of the Coastline and mountains. A quiet romantic getaway.
Accès des voyageurs
We have an in suite refrigerator and Coffee Maker . Cell service/Wifi is spotty in the mountains (Verizon works quite well) so we have a hard line for North American phone calls. If you absolutely MUST have internet/Wifi 100% of the time, then this guest suite is not suitable for you.

I or my property manager will be here to check you in and help you with any of your needs. I live on site and so does property manager. We try to give you as much privacy as you wish but we are there if you need anything at all.
We do have dogs on the property but we are very respectful of peace and quiet and if you need a good sleep in mornings let us know and we can be extra quiet. The dogs bark when we feed them at 1pm and at 6pm when we bring them inside the house for the night. It has rarely been a problem but just a heads up in case that is an issue for you. Most of our guests are out sightseeing and at the beaches and the like during those times.
I am delighted you have chosen to visit, whether it's business or vacation, I want you to enjoy your visit and the beautiful 250 acre property. I have a few reqhttps://www.airbnb.com/helpuests and a few suggestions to make your stay the best it can possibly be.
We do not accept more than 4 guests per booking (a child counts as one guests we are not age discriminatory) NO exceptions.
We do not allow you to have visitors during your stay, NO exceptions. The property will be locked closed to anyone other than you, our very special and valued guests. This is our practice for yours and our security.
First and very important is check in. Once I send you the directions please actually read them before you get into your car because the Corral Canyon part of your drive does not work too well with GPS or WAZE. And I promise you will get lost.
Another consideration is that once we agree on an arrival window of time to please honor that as this is not the kind of Estate where we can leave out a key in a lockbox.
We need to check you in personally, so if we agree you're arriving between 4 and 5 pm can you please do that unless you've hit murderous traffic or your airline was delayed which we totally understand. We do make special arrangements to greet you so please respect that we have other things to attend to and our staff have to go home after a hard days work.
We definitely prefer you to arrive in daylight but that is not always possible in the winter months. If you HAVE to arrive very late at night and IF I can get a staff member to stay and let you in we request that you give them a generous tip as they all have families and other business to attend to. Once you arrive we respectfully request a copy of your passport or drivers license.
We respectfully ask that you do not wipe your make up off on our white towels or washcloths or use them for any other use. You may not take the white towels to the beach or spa. We provide special towels for that.
We also insist that you do not leave food lying around the house and that you use the many trash cans with lids we provide inside the home. We also request that you take the trash out to the dumpster with you if it starts to overflow inside the house. We leave in a mountain area and we are very prone to pests when food or sticky drinks are left lying around.
We have several sets of outdoor seating areas and we ask that if you move them around, which you are most welcome to, that you return them to their original positions.
Please do not leave the windows open while you are running the AC or the heaters.
We do not allow parties or weddings for Airbnb clients. We prefer that you check with us about receiving visitors as we have dogs and gate access to deal with. There no smoking in the house.
SMOKING: Out of respect for those that do not smoke and are offended by the left over odor there is a "NO SMOKING INSIDE THE HOUSE" rule. Out of respect for those that enjoy smoking, you may smoke out on the deck. We ask that our guests that wish to smoke observe that we are in a delicate semi-wilderness environment and that smokers use all reasonable precautions with extinguishing their smokes in a safe and responsible manner, and that they do not leave any Smokers Trash (Butts & Filters) lying about (Please ask for ashtray for outside smoking :) )
PETS: It is best if we do not allow guests to bring pets. We rescue dogs on the property, all of whom are friendly, are used to dealing with our valued guests and each other. Our dogs do not roam around the property and have their own quarters. Bringing other animals especially other dogs into their territory can be disruptive and make for time spent dealing with that instead of relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
I am a chef, author, restaurateur and philanthropist, and I arrived in Los Angeles from Northern Ireland in 1975, to begin my career in the culinary industry. My culinary expertise encompasses an international diversity including Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, French and, of course, Contemporary California and Irish. I have been featured in the L.A. Times, Fine Cooking Magazine, and Bon Appetit Magazine named of the top six chefs in the United States”. Today, I own two distinctively different restaurants on Main Street in Santa Monica,California: Lula Cocina Mexicana, a bold, bright and colorful cantina famous for its murals painted by artist Eloy Torrez, and Signature Lula Margaritas;and Finn McCool's Irish Pub, boasting a beautiful bar shipped painstakingly over from Ireland through the Panama Canal. In 1995, I built my dream home, Rancho Chiquita, nestled high in the Malibu Mountains. Rancho Chiquita overlooks a spectacular panoramic ocean view and 250 acres of rolling hills, and is host to many Charity Fundraising Events, Weddings , Private Cooking Classes , and Film and Movie Shoots. I am an avid advocate on behalf of the protection and rehabilitation of animals, and I share my home with a multitude of Rescue Dogs.
