Description

Family retreat located near Burlington, VT. While within 30 minutes of Burlington, skiing and many other attractions, Simpson's High Meadow is located at the end of an unpaved well maintained road with complete privacy. Swimming pond and dock. The prices listed are for up to 8 guests, please add $100/night for 9-14 guests.

There is an outdoor cooking pavilion with outdoor sink and toilet (accessible during the warmer months). This is adjacent to the swimming pond and connects to a gas heated one room post and beam cabin with sleeping loft and fire place (sleeps 4). Connected to this cabin by a breeze way, is a newer post and beam home with master bedroom, twin bedroom, sleeping loft with queen and double beds, fold out couch in basement, and a full bath (10 sleeping spots total). The cabin next to main house is heated but suitable for 'sleeping only' on the coldest nights in winter. The main house is fully heated and insulated and can be kept toasty warm with cast iron gas stove. There are ample flat areas for camping if desired, along with room for volleyball, soccer, etc.

This house is located on over 180 acres of private land near the Green Mountain Forest. Hike/snowshoe on the property or in nearby public forests.

Scott will meet you at the beginning of your stay and is available for any special requests or concerns that arise.

Scott and Cynthia live at the entrance to the property and Sue Morse, a wildlife biologist, lives on another house on the property, but out of view of the house/cabin you will be renting. Within a 10 minuted drive is a classic Vermont country store in Jericho Center.

You will need your own car and in the winter all wheel drive is recommended.

One possible drawback for some might be a nearby Vermont National Guard range that produces occasional noise from small arms and other military exercises.

If you would like to have guests, such as campers, beyond the maximum of 14, please contact Scott with the request and we will propose pricing. For other events, such as weddings, or other large gatherings, please do the same. Thanks for your interest.

Règlement intérieur
Non fumeur
Ne convient pas aux animaux
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait à partir de 15:00
Départ avant 11:00

While you will have privacy visually, Sue's house is about 200 yards away and down the hill a bit, so loud music etc will need to be limited after 10pm. She also has two German Shepards (fenced in and out of site of your area) and this is one of the reasons we do not allow dogs as her dogs have bark collars to avoid disturbing your stay. If there are other dogs there this can be quite painful for her dogs as it's very hard for them not to bark when other dogs are present. So even if the dog's are not overnight guests, they are not allowed at all and if dogs are seen during your stay we will charge $150 for outside cleanup and $200 for inside cleanup if there is any sign that dogs have been inside. This also allows us to offer a dog free house if people have allergies.

This is a "camp" that has been in our family since 1964 We hope you will treat is as you would your own family retreat. We only accept reservations from travelers with at least one positive review.

Mountain biking or use of other wheeled vehicles is not permitted on the property other than on the driveway. Use of firearms (including archery), hunting or use of paintball guns is also not permitted.

What an incredible place. Having attended college in VT, but now vacationing with multiple toddlers, we wanted a place that was close to amenities and towns like Burlington and others. But, at the same time, I desired the Vermont experience as well, and was hoping for a cabin in the woods with a view. This home is the perfect balance of all things we were seeking. We will most certainly be returning! For families looking for a fun and safe place to stay, this is a great place. Plenty of outdoor space to explore, and lots to enjoy indoor on a rainy day. Plus, with the separated cabin from the main house, the adults had the perfect hangout spot during naps and after kid bedtime without any worry of noise. A perfect setup!

Beautiful, spacious, warm home with a host who will treat you like family. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this home and our stay with Scott and Cynthia. We were two families with six children between us. Everyone had plenty of room and thoroughly enjoyed the massive yard with unbelievable view, pond with deck, and surrounding forested area. Having fully functioning washer and dryer plus all the pantry needs met certainly helped with our crew. It's not a matter of if but when we will come back to stay at this magnificent home.

Unfortunately we lost our great property manager as he had too much work elsewhere. This one slipped through the cracks and we did follow up withbexplaination and apology to Brendan. Back up to speed now.

I highly recommend this vacation home for friends or family to gather. The house came with everything we needed plus more. It was simple and clean. There were games for the kids, boats and anything you could need for outdoor living -- fire pit with wood, outdoor cooking space, tables, chairs, etc. It was peaceful and well laid out. The view was beautiful and we didn't feel the need to leave much. We look forward to returning.

The description was very close to the place, and came with lots of extras. We loved all the extras, like outdoor chairs, outdoor toys, and a kitchen full of stuff and more. The bathrooms were equipped with everything you needed. It was a fabulous place and we had a wonderful time.

Hi, I am one of the three siblings and partners who now own Simpson's High Meadow. I am a Clinical Social Worker in Burlington and my wife Cynthia and I live about 300 yards down the round from 65 Bentley Lane where you will be staying. We are at 39 Bentley, which you will pass on your way in.
