We really enjoyed our stay at Yaxche Jungle Camp! The space is very secluded and beautiful. I have never seen so many stars. In addition, Marcos is a wonderful host. We did the Cave kayaking which was an awesome excursion and haven't seen anything offered like it during my travels in Belize. Would highly reccomend staying here for travelers looking to get a true Belize jungle experience and to meet Marcos and his family and friends!

This place was one of the best parts of our vacation. It is so so serene and off the beaten bath quiet. Reading the reviews I was worried about wildlife getting in my bed but thats not the case at all. The room you sleep in is elevated from the ground and completely wrapped in mosquito nets. So is your bed. Marcus, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about nature and the Mayan culture. His stories at night are super interesting and the food that we were served was exceptionally delicious ! Make sure you bring a flashlight! Can't recommend this place enough

We stayed with Marcos and his family for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience. We were well taken care of, everyone was super friendly and we also had great dinner as well as breakfast prepared by Sarah. Best fry jacks we had on our whole trip! Even though the dorm and facatilities are simple, you still have everything you need (as long as you bring bug spray). We also did a cave kayaking tour with Francis which was such a cool experience. I've never really been kayaking before and Francis was very attentive and made us feel safe on the river as well in the jungle. A must for the adventurer! I truly recommend this place, listening to Marcos and the others stories about growing up in Belize in small maya communities, learning about both the country and nature was so interesting. Thank you so much for a great experience!!!

When looking back at my week long trip to Belize, my one night at Yaxche Jungle Camp was definitely a high point. Coming from one of the hectic and crowded islands I was so happy to stay in such a serene and unspoiled paradise. The lodgings are rustic for sure, but that only added to the appeal of getting away from it all. I stayed in the bunk house which was very clean and comfortable. Sareta was such a kind and amazing hostess. She was attentive to all of my needs and cooked the most delicious food I had the entire trip (and I had a lot of good food on this trip)! Towels and clean drinking water were included in the the price; which was not the case at any of the other places I stayed at. Sareta's little brother Danni was also fantastic! After I told him I liked frogs he found one to show me and offered to take me on a night hike to see snakes and tarantulas (I unfortunately had to decline due to a lack of courage). Last but not least, Marcos was an amazing tour guide! Even though I hadn't booked anything in advance he found a way to work me into a zip lining tour which turned out to be incredible! Furthermore, it quickly became apparent that he is deeply committed to protecting the environment and supporting local people and products. All things considered, I feel lucky to have stayed at such a great place and and to have met such great people. My only regret was that I did not spend more time there. I can't wait to take another trip back to Belize and stay at YJC and take a tour with MGA!!!

Yaxche Jungle camp was a wonderful experience all around! I was a solo traveler who happened to arrive with 4 extra travelers and Francis was super accommodating to all of us. We stayed in the bunkhouse that was super airy and large with comfy beds. Individual mosquito nets for all!!! The shower was outdoor and super refreshing with the jungle as your backdrop. The food was plentiful and delicious. I must learn how to make a fryjack! Our excursion with their Maya guide outfitters was phenomenal! I am 53 with a bum knee and Francis was extremely helpful with our choices. We chose cave tubing and it was wonderful. His knowledge and passion for his country and his business was refreshing. Please don't go to Belize and not stop here, it is well worth the trip!! On the bus routes, just remember mile 42!!!! Hahaha. Thanks for the memories, Marianne

We had a short but great stay with Marcos and Francis and Sarah! Our first time in Belize in a jungle had us encountering new and interesting creatures such as tarantellas, birds and roosters who lay eggs haha :D cave tubing was amazing. Francis and Marcos provided lots of interesting knowledge about nature, the jungle, history of the country, etc. Sarah made us excellent junglefood and the cabana was such a cool place to stay. We will be back someday.

Highly recommended! Yaxche Jungle Camp was definitely my favorite place out of the 3 spots I stayed at in Belize and possibly the best place I have ever stayed at. The meals were amazing and the cave tour provided by Marcos was absolutely incredible This is the place to be if you are looking to truly experience the jungle. I would love to make it back here someday!
