Le logement
Maisonette apartment in a Grade 2 listed Victorian terraced house situated in E1, Whitechapel. With one large double bedroom and another standard double, it comfortably fits 4 and has the unique luxury of a private garden. 1 minute walk to Whitechapel tube station (District, Hammersmith & City, TFL Overground lines), 5 minute walk to a large superstore, 10 minute walk to signature landmarks such as Spitalfields Market, London Liverpool Street, Tower Bridge the Tower of London.

The property is set over the ground and basement floors of a converted Victorian terraced house. Unlike your typical new-builds, the property has bags of character in its layout and is nicely formed.

Very uniquely for properties in this area, it has a private garden which is a very good size and great in the summer. There is plenty of seating provided with cushions for extra comfort.

The master bedroom is a great size and the second bedroom doubles as a walk in wardrobe depending on how many people are staying. The second bed is the option of either a foldaway futon or an inflatable double bed with plenty of additional pillows and bedding to ensure a good night's sleep.

Accès des voyageurs
You have access to the whole property during your stay. The wardrobes will be all but emptied save for a few items in suit carriers so you have maximum storage space. The cupboard under the stairs will be used to store some of our belongings and more general items like a hoover, iron and ironing board and tool kit should you need them. No areas are off-limits but you are asked not to modify the property in any way i.e. do not put locks on doors.

Autres remarques
The property has 3 apartments in it including ours and they all share the same front door so you may see others coming and going during your stay. We do ask that you do not let others into the property if they do not have a key. As stated in the house rules, please ensure you lock the front door behind you when you are entering and leaving the building. There is a top lock and a bottom lock and the bottom lock requires locking with the blue key when you leave. When entering, the lock has a handle which you must twist once the door has closed. Please ensure the back door is locked with the top and bottom bolts if you have been into the garden.

Whitechapel, Londres, Grand Londres

Whitechapel is renowned for it's multi-cultural community and ethnic cuisine - the infamous Brick Lane is only 5 minutes walk away - but the area has seen some terrific developments in the last few years which have made it an even more attractive proposition.

The Olympic stadium, surrounding Olympic village and Westfield Stratford shopping centre is under 5 miles away and can be accessed very easily via Whitechapel tube station. If it is a nice day you could even hop on a Santander bicycle (available from one of the cycle racks located outside the property) and cycle there in less than 20 minutes down the recently completed Cycle Superhighway 2.

Westfield Stratford offers a first-rate shopping experience but also has numerous bars and restaurants, a cinema, bowling alley and casino.

Notorious destinations and cultural experiences such as Covent Garden, Oxford Circus, the Thames Embankment, Trafalgar Square, Somerset House, St. Paul's Cathedral and various museums and galleries are just a 20 minute tube ride away and Whitechapel tube station is only a minute away from the property - you don't get many places in London which are as close to a tube station but I should stress that you cannot see or hear the tube from the property so do not worry about being disturbed.

You can also take a short walk towards Tower Hill where you will be able to see the majestic Tower Bridge and Tower of London, cradled by the Thames River - makes for a great photo op! From here you can jump on a river boat and take in the sights as you head east towards Greenwich or west towards Westminster and the Houses of Parliament.

If you are here on business, Liverpool Street is a 10 minute walk away or 5 minutes on the tube from Whitechapel station. Canary Wharf is also accessible via Whitechapel tube station - take the overground line to Shadwell and then the DLR to Canary Wharf - 15 minutes and you'll be there.

On an evening, you can talk a 10 minute walk to Spitalfields market where there are restaurants galore and some really great ones at that. Shoreditch is known for its great nightlife no matter what your scene is and this is between a 15 and 20 minute walk away but only 5 minutes on the tube and 10 minutes in an Uber. There are also some fantastic restaurants in Shoredtich too - we recommend Dishoom if you like your Indian cuisine and Pizza East for a pizza experience out of the ordinary.

If you want to take in something that Whitechapel has to offer, try Tayyab's which is just round the corner from our house. It is known across London as one of the best Punjabi cuisine experiences but make sure you book or get there early as this place gets busy with a capital B and serves well past midnight. It is Bring-your-own alcohol and they will not bat an eyelid if you take as much as your arms can carry! If you are just in the mood for a pint, take one in in The Blind Beggar down the road - the pub is known for being the den of the infamous Kray twins (London's favourite gangsters).

Hi there - I'm Daniel. I am originally from Newcastle in the north-east of England but have been living in London since 2009 when I came down to study Film at university. I fell in love with London pretty quickly and don't see myself leaving any time soon. Silence of the Lambs is my favourite film; Madonna my favourite music artist (for better or for worse!), VEEP is my TV choice du jour, and book...let's just say I need to read more! I love hosting in general and my background is in hospitality so I find it incredibly exciting thinking of new ways to make someone's stay memorable. I am a bit of a hotel enthusiast so I love keeping an eye out for the finer touches which can really make guests feel welcomed and cared for. I love interior design and can spend hours strolling the shops in the home-ware departments. This makes my partner very nervous! My life motto is very much YOLO! You tend to only regret the things you haven't done. Oh, and work to live, don't live to work! I hope you have a wonderful stay in London!
