Description

Rock Villa is a character Welsh cottage nestled into the slopes of the Clywedog Valley in Mid Wales with views of the Cambrian Mountains and perfectly situated for enjoying all the outdoor activities that this beautiful area of Wales has to offer. Such as:
Exploring, taking in the stunning scenery on some remarkable roads - hiking the Glyndwr's Way trail - wandering alongside a young Severn to waterfalls or up to the source - angling on Clywedog - cycling - off road biking - & much more

Rock Villa is a perfect space to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Being up in the hills at 1000ft means very limited mobile signal (these days you have a chance with O2). Wifi is available at the house, albeit slow... Think of it as a much-needed off grid break!
The idyllic Lake Clywedog and Hafren forest are both close by, great spots for walking, fishing or cycling. Wandering alongside a young river Severn which winds its way through the forest is a lovely dog walking area too. The Chapel Room is a double with a separate bath/shower room.

In addition to your room you also have a downstairs guest area with comfy chesterfield sofa in which to relax as well as a large, sunny landing with antique sofa. A lovely spot for quiet contemplation. The Chapel room has it's own staircase dating from the 1760's which connects to a cosy snug with log burning fire. This is where any visiting dogs spend the night so perfect if you are travelling with your 4-legged companion. Please see our other listings for a further en suite double/twin and a single with separate bathroom.

As well as breakfast you have the option of eating a 2-course evening meal here with either myself and/or other guests for company. Currently the closest pubs & restaurants are in the towns of Llanidloes and Machynlleth, 7 and 11 miles away respectively.

Nope, no public transport nearby... deep in the hills here. The closest station of Caersws is approximately 9 miles away. If this is your only option lets discuss collect/drop off possibilities.
The closes petrol station is the Texaco in Llanidloes (7 miles)

To avoid disappointment if you are travelling with children or fancy some digital entertainment during your stay, perhaps pack a few DVD's or download content before you arrive.
