À propos de ce logement

Le logement

Our farm is tucked into a beautiful, isolated, north-south valley on the western slope of the coast range of southern Oregon, with a clear and clean river named Middle Creek running through. Lush pasture, a 100 year old conifer forest, barns, and a home surrounded by productive and established orchard, flower beds and veggie gardens, the land sits a mile or so below a narrows in the canyon of blue-green mountains that face the sea. As a place of serenity and lush beauty close to nature, this is the ideal retreat or inspirational getaway far from the hustle and bustle of big cities and busy highways.

Our two available bedrooms sit in the west wing of our craftsman/lodge style farmhouse. They are available separately or together and this listing is for the smaller room with a queen sized bed. The other room (also with a queen bed) can be booked via the other listing for this location. There is a tile bathroom with a sink and toilet in between the two bedrooms, and a shared deck directly outside. The underwater themed tile master bathroom, across the living room, has a shower for guest use. The property also houses a studio building with a mirrored dance/work-out/yoga studio/home theater on the upper level that is available for AirBnB guests to use upon request. Our living room and kitchen are shared spaces, available for your use at any time.

As we host work-traders through the WWOOF organization from Spring to Autumn, we have breakfast together in the morning after the goats have been milked and the chickens have been fed. You are welcome to join us for this meal if you are an early riser! We all have group meals for dinner around 7 PM. All meal details will be arranged at booking.

A winding, scenic, paved 20 minute drive takes you to the old town and county seat of Coquille, and another 20 minutes lands you in the city of Coos Bay, which is the second largest port on the renowned Oregon coast. South of that is the quaint town of Bandon-by-the-Sea where the southern stretch of breathtaking sea-stacked rocks begins, leading to the giant redwoods in northern California. Old-growth forests are a short drive from the farm, and beautiful hiking, running and biking routes along the river and within the canyon are accessible from our property. There is also a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole a mile up the road from the farm (right onto Middle Creek Road from Driveway). Roseburg and the I-5 corridor are slightly over an hour away with easy access to winery tour routes and other parts of Oregon or California.

*A few of our main flower gardens are currently under renovation, sorry for the inconvenience.*

We live comfortably, but with full respect for the land and all of its creatures. We keep our showers short and sweet, recycle nearly everything and compost anything biodegradable. On sunny days we cook food in our solar oven, and on chillier ones the Elmira wood cook-stove does the job. However, we do have an electric range for use as well. Our animals live outdoors, and at this time, we do not allow guests to bring their pets. Our washer and dryer are available for use. The main house rule: If you don't know, just ask. We would rather you ask us about anything and everything than risk any kind of damage, loss or injury.

We loved staying with Dan and Micha, and wished our trip would have allowed a longer stay. They are terrific hosts, the room has wonderful light with all the windows, and they are in a quiet, wooded area. We did sign up for a couple dinners and breakfasts, and the food was delicious and fresh, much of it from their own farm. Eggs from their chickens, fresh milk from their goats, and greens from their garden. They are happy to share and discuss what they're doing with their farm if you're interested , and we liked seeing it and learning a little. We hope to come back and stay again next year!

Dan and Micha's place is located about a half hour east of Coquille in a secluded area of forest and meadows. It is very quiet with sounds of a nearby stream and waterfall. We found Dan and Micha to be very friendly, informative and good cooks. We had both breakfast and dinner with them for two days, and enjoyed the food and conversation. If you like sustainable gardening and animals, this will be fabulous. Plenty of dogs, cats, goats, chickens and ducks to go around. We had a comfortable bed, hot tub and spacious living room to hang out in. Quite a treat.

Dan and Micha are such awesome hosts, so welcoming and their farm is so beautiful and charming. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with their homemade mead aswell as a great breakfast in the morning - was so nice to have proper home cooked meals after being on the road. Their dogs are super friendly! Our room was warm and cosy too. If you are doing a road trip I would definitely recommend you stop by here for a night or two :)

We are an organic farm in the middle of the coastal Oregon woods. Life here involves caring for our orchard, veggie and flower gardens, and tending to the furry and feathery animals on our small, sustainable Myrtle Glen Farm. We love good conversation and story, home-made music, and summer garden barbeques. We are always available to our guests, and are very understanding and accommodating of those that wish to be left alone. Although, because we are a farmhouse with helpers and guests abound, cannot, at times, facilitate total quietude.
The home sits on a clean, wild river in the midst of serene mountain landscapes, with Old growth forest hikes not far away. We're less than an hour from some of the most beautiful beaches on the Oregon coast and wine country just over the mountains east. With private decks, a hot-tub and yoga studio, you can truly relax and pamper yourself here.
We live in awareness and appreciation of our surroundings, and grow, nurture and enjoy amazing food and relationships with the creatures we abide among. We host work traders seasonally through the WWOOF organization in order to share this lush place, have help with the large veggie garden and teach the skills and practices that have been nearly forgotten and not taught to recent generations.
