This traditional Japanese wooden house was recently refurbished in a modern 'fusion' style.
Though listed as two bedrooms, the second floor actually consists of one large tatami mat room (with three futons) and an adjoining room with a small sofa that can be converted into a bed. A Japanese screen is available to partially separate the two rooms.
Guests will have the entire house to themselves.

After years of traveling the world in the service of international development, we settled in Kyoto and renovated a 'machiya' (traditional wooden Japanese townhouse). We enjoyed our home, neighborhood and all that Kyoto has to offer so much that we decided to renovate another 'machiya' and offer it to visitors from around the world to stay in while visiting Kyoto. We look forward to meeting you and know you will enjoy staying at newly renovated Mibu House, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Kyoto.
