This small cottage is nestled in a professionally landscaped garden 1.5 miles north of Bristol village. Cozy double bed, dresser, ceiling fan with vaulted ceiling make it a sweet destination. Outdoor shower and toilet within a separate "outhouse".

The cottage does not have heat which makes this a seasonal rental only. In cool weather, an electric space heater works great.
The double sized bed makes this a cozy fit for two.

Guests can use the main house for access to an indoor bathroom when owner is home.

I have a full time job so will greet you in the evening. Spend some time with me in the screened porch of the main house. I have a wealth of knowledge of things to do and would be happy to be your personal concierge.

Bristol is a charming village nestled on the western side of the Green Mountains and surrounded by farmland. Hiking trails start from the village or are within a short drive. On hot summer days, check out Bartlett Falls and other swimming holes in the New Haven River. There are miles of cycling on paved or dirt roads in any direction. The famous App Gap or Lincoln Gap challenges start/end here.

20 minutes from Middlebury College; 30 minutes to Kingsland Bay State Park on Lake Champlain; 45 minutes to Burlington.

There are plenty of restaurants, from gourmet to casual, serving locally sourced food and craft brews. Lulu’s small-batch ice cream is not to be missed. Honey Lights, a charming beeswax candle shop, makes great gifts. Art on Main features local artists of all genres. Rocky Dale Gardens is a treasure.

Music, farmer’s markets, food and brew tours and berry picking are just a few options for local summer experiences within Addison County.

Vehicle is desirable. Parking on site. Score big points for biking to/from here.

Price includes Vermont Rooms and Meals tax.
I have one cat.

We loved Bristol! What an adorable town! We arrived late after a long hike, so we met Marianne the next morning. The cottage was adorable, we took enlivening (!) showers in the light of the full moon, and curled up with the warmth of a space heater. The next morning, Marianne recommended a side trip to Lincoln, which boasted spectacular foliage, and encouraged us to check out the Ciderfest at a local orchard. Both were very thoughtful suggestions. We even saw Marianne at the Ciderfest, so it was nice to feel like we knew a local! :)

Our stay at the garden cottage was amazing! We will definitely be going back. Pictures do not do it justice; the cottage is bigger than we were expecting. Location was great, easy to get to, cute town of Bristol close by, and the cottage had every single amenity you can think of. Even the outdoor facilities were great. We did find that setting the shower temperature was a little tricky . but nothing to fuss over. The cottage is also very nicely decorated. Every single detail was thought of. If you're traveling during cooler months, there's a great little heater to keep you warm. For summer days the ceiling fan will do the trick. Look no more - this is the place to stay. As to Marianne, she was a great hostess and very knowledgeable! We only got to meet her briefly but it was a pleasure to talk to her about neighboring towns.

I was at my brothers house most of the time, but Marianne made me feel welcome when I arrived. It was great, but I didn't realize there was no running water. Thankfully, I found water bottles for and brushing teeth.

I am from Vermont, but needed a short term place to stay before my new home was ready to move into. This place is a little slice of heaven! The cottage is small and charming, and feels like home. The outdoor shower is so nice during the warm afternoons, and it's lovely to enjoy a book outside on the patio provided. Marianne is a lovely host, and offered me space to use in the home and kitchen while I spent a couple weeks there. It is exactly what I needed, clean and in a beautiful part of Bristol.

Our stay was cozy and the cottage was charming. The grounds were beautifully maintained and felt so private. We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience and felt this space made our time in beautiful Vermont even more memorable. Thanks, Marianne!
