An amazing apartment on the slopes of Table Mountain, in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Vredehoek. The area is charming, with lots of art deco buildings, the apartment is a close walk to a convenience store, some lovely cafes and a restaurant or two, and it is only a 25 minute (downhill!) walk (or 10 minute drive) into cape city bowl. Emma and Jos were exceptionally attentive during my stay, ensuring I had everything I needed.
The apartment is charming an eclectic, a cosy place to spend an evening and a magnificent perch from which to view he city The kitchen is well equipped and has a washer and separate dryer. The flat screenTV (concealed behind artwork during the day) is hooked up to a brilliant sound system, so anyone with an AppleTV or similar can stream music, TV etc to their heart's content. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground floor bedroom is separated from the living room by a curtain rather than doors - I had friends stay for weeks at a time and did not find this remotely inconvenient. The master suite is just that - the entire tip floor of the apartment, with a whacky king-size bed that seems to be constructed from a racing car, another top-class sound system, and an en-suite with a vast bathtub and separate walk-in shower both of which have stunning views over the Cape Town city bowl. Outside is a large terrace with a braai (BBQ) and a jacuzzi. The views are so spectacular and the weather so magnificent that I came and sat on the terrace ever single night of my two month stay to watch the sun go down. A local bus connects you to the city, and taxis are cheap and easy to get. The neighbourhood is safe, quiet and residential with leafy streets and lovely buildings. I cannot imagine a better place from which to explore the Cape Town
