Description

Located in very cool Dickinson Narrows/Pennsport area of Philadelphia, convenient to sports arenas, Historical areas, Center City (all within one mile), 2 bedroom, 1 full bath. House has open, creative aesthetic floor plan.

Come home from a stimulating day of exploring the fabulous City of Brotherly Love to this oasis of a home. Stained glass and original art abounds throughout the house; a serene garden awaits you outside the kitchen door.

1st guest room has a beautiful maple, amish made murphy bed. High quality mattress is full size, and on the soft side.
The 2nd guest room is a cozy half-bedroom, I use it as a meditation room--- it's full of great vibes. A full-sized murphy bed with a memory foam mattress is behind the magic turquoise curtain . The master bedroom is not offered at this time. There are hooks/hangers on the back of each bedroom door and shelving for your use. There is a twin or full sized quality air mattress for a 5th person and a privacy screen available. Mattress would be used in shared space on first floor.
Philly-Quaker values: simple simple simple.
This is a wifi'd house, however there is no TV (being a place of quiet, an oasis).
All guests need to be registered with host. No more than 5 guests per booking, please.
You are welcomed to use condiments in fridge and I will try to have coffee available for you to make in my french press so you can get out the door in the mornings... :-)

My son, Will or I will help you check in and there is an outdoor lockbox for entry. We are available to you if the need arises. There is a detailed binder with local eatery suggestions, maps, SEPTA (public transportation) information, music venues, how to walk "the mural mile" and tips about the house. Also, see the "Guidebook" here for info. It is up to the guest's discretion how much interfacing they'd like with the host.

This is a vibrant, mostly residential, eclectic Philly neighborhood. It was recently voted in a national real estate magazine as the "2nd hottest" neighborhood in the USA. It's gritty, diverse, safe and 1-2 miles to anywhere you'd want to go. If you're a traveler who likes to absorb the people and places wherever you land and explore, this is the hood. It's all Philadelphia. LonelyPlanet claimed Philadelphia #1 place to visit in USA. Check out their summary: (URL HIDDEN)

Septa buses are on every other street and the subway is 7 blocks away. Put your walking legs on! It's the best way to see this great city. Parking is tight on these little "stitch" streets. Parking permits will be required after January 1, 2016. Guest passes per car are $10/day in my neighborhood. (Host will provide guest a car pass if prearranged and paid ahead of time); There is free parking 6 blocks away under the I95 overpass, a well lit mass parking area.
6mi from the airport, near major highways.

The best croissant this side of Paris is a short stroll away, authentic Mexican and Pho Restaurant (Thai cuisine) a few blocks. Society Hill and Historical Revolutionary buildings in walking distance. The Delaware River, Penn's Landing is 5 blocks away. Camden Aquarium a ferry trip away at Penns Landing.

Originally from New England, I transplanted myself to the City of Brotherly Love a few years ago and have not looked back. I love the murals that tell the stories of the people of this place, the community gardens, the history, the nearby Italian Market and Little Asia, the ordinary within the extraordinary. I'm a holistic RN, healer, gardener, artist. I love to travel. I love the curious. "Seeing what is small is called insight; abiding in softness is called Strength" --Lao Tzu
