translation: Excellent vacation of 1 week at Germaine's place which was welcoming like a friend. We appreciated so much the 2 separated rooms and the bouquet of flowers with the little soap in each room. The location isn't in the center of Philadelphia but it allowed us to navigate several areas which we would have missed if we had stayed in the center. The bus stop was 5 minutes away on foot and was direct to the city center. The downtown is fabulous and full of museums as well as magnificent monuments. One needs several days to discover all. We were there for work purposes and will always have fond memories of our visit. Thanks so much to Germaine for her cordial welcome and the wonderful times shared with her.

Germaine was very responsive and accommodating. The apartment was in a vibrant area with great eating options. Comfortable and quiet - I was unsure if the beds would be comfortable, but we slept great. We only used the kitchen for coffee and tea but it was perfect for that.

Germaine has the most lovely home; as soon as you enter you feel a wave of peaceful, calming energy sweep over you – between the meditation room and the garden in the back, it’s little wonder why. Her house is the perfect space to gear up for and recharge after busy days out exploring the city. She keeps a book on the entrance table that has information for just about anything you might need, including suggestions for some great nearby restaurants, places to listen to live music and notable things to see. This was an invaluable resource for navigating the local area. Germaine really does open up her entire house to her guests and she provides many resources and personal touches (like local soap bars); these all combine to make the entire stay feel more like participation in a community rather than a more traditional, transactional feel of staying in a hotel or renting someone’s home. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who is considering it.

The place was just as described -- unique, adorable and comfortable. The neighborhood is fantastic -- great coffee shop (GrindHouse) just a few blocks away. Easy access to Center City. Parking was a bit tricky, but no real surprise there. Germaine was great -- highly responsive even though she was traveling while we rented her place. She has a great book that details anything you might need to ask.

Originally from New England, I transplanted myself to the City of Brotherly Love a few years ago and have not looked back. I love the murals that tell the stories of the people of this place, the community gardens, the history, the nearby Italian Market and Little Asia, the ordinary within the extraordinary. I'm a holistic RN, healer, gardener, artist. I love to travel. I love the curious. "Seeing what is small is called insight; abiding in softness is called Strength" --Lao Tzu
