À propos de ce logement

This charming space has its own entrance and was once used as living quarters by staff that supported the main house in the late 1800's. As the development of automobiles eliminated the need for a 'carriage boy', it was updated into general living space. It most recently served as a self-contained apartment and before that was the honeymoon suite for a bed and breakfast. The jetted tub for two, Mediterranean tiled bathroom, and step-in shower make relaxing a joy!
The main floor has a kitchenette, living room, and large bathroom. A table that seats four allows you to enjoy meals or have a spot to work. The sofa transforms into a queen sleeper bed that comfortably sleeps two adults.
The kitchenette includes the use of a microwave and toaster/convection oven. Dishes and utensils are provided. A coffee pot and modest amount of coffee are waiting for you.
The stairs to the second floor are steep, but open up into a nicely sized bedroom, newly carpeted with a closet. There is a small sitting area next to the queen size bed.
NOTE: If you need additional beds, we also offer the "Historic Library" and the "Historic Bedroom"within the main house.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have private use of the Carriage House, and the outdoor space is shared. We invite you to walk the gardens that change with the seasons, watch the fish in the pond during the summer, socialize on the the front porch of the main house, and enjoy the shade of the gazebo with a good book or entertaining friends. Of course, we encourage you to play with our black lab who roams the yard and spends time with us in the main house. You also have access to a fire pit when making prior arrangements with us.
The gas grill is not available.
Please do not climb the fire escape on the main house. It is there only for emergencies.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We take our cues from you regarding the amount of interaction you enjoy. We tend to lead busy lives, but will greet you when you check in, give you a quick tour of the Carriage House, and answer any questions you still have. We probably won't be as likely to bump into you in the yard during your stay if you visit us during the winter months since Nebraska winters are quite chilly. We will provide you with our phone numbers so that if anything comes up you need help with, we are available.
We have a friendly black lab who spends a lot of time in the yard in the summer. He does an excellent job of following commands. He will lavish attention on you if you initiate it, yet will respect your need for space if you tell him to 'back up' and 'go lay down'! Please don't feed him so we can keep him healthy.
We offer wi-fi, but the company is not always reliable. Some guests have no problems and some head 2 blocks up the street to Cultiva, a wonderful coffee and crepe shop, to use their wi-fi.
We want you to enjoy your visit. Let us know how we can help make that happen. A few things we ask:
+ We live on site in a neighborhood and would appreciate quiet hours observed after 10:00 p.m. on week-nights and 11:00 p.m. on week-ends.
+ Please do not invite our dog to join you in the Carriage House. This space is 'pet free' to honor the needs of all our guests.
+ Must be over 21 years of age to rent.
+ General respect always appreciated. Please clean up any outside space you use.
+You are responsible to pay for any damages beyond 'normal wear and tear'.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 5 jours avant votre voyage, vous recevez un remboursement intégral, frais de service compris.
Greg and Paula have been married over 30 years now. We purchased a historic property in 2009 to make it our family home. It is a good thing we love projects, because we continue to work on remodeling it and creating a retreat for ourselves and others. Our daughter is married now and lives out-of-state. Our son attends college in Lincoln. Our 10 year old black lab, Sam, lives in the main house, but is available for loving and a game of fetch within the yard. We love our neighborhood and are active on the Everett Neighborhood Association Board. Greg is a soccer referee, active in our church, and a volunteer with FoodNet while Paula is an elementary principal.
