Lane and I live very close to our home and can be of assistance to you at any time. We have a lockbox, so it's a self check-in. We will not bother you, however, Lane does come by occasionally to do some gardening and store items in the shed. There will be a key in a lockbox for you to access the house. The lockbox code will be listed in the House Manual on this site after transaction is accepted.
We have a fenced-in yard and a screened-in porch. The patio is fenced as well. Great for little Fido or the kiddies. During certain times of the year, you may find there are stickers in the grassy areas. We try to keep on top of this, but not always successful. It's a part of beach life at the Outer Banks. Always good to wear flip flops.
NOTE: FYI - Dare County is having a beach nourishment project going on in all the towns this summer. Current information states that the beach nourishment contractor will begin nourishment dredging in Kill Devil Hills in late June or early July. Completion of the Kill Devil Hills project is now anticipated to be in mid-August.
The Beach Nourishment project will include pumping sand from the ocean floor onto the beach to build up eroded areas. That will help to create a wider beach area to protect and enhance our shoreline. The beaches will remain open during this time but access to certain areas will be restricted during the actual construction phase.
They will only be working on 1000 ft at a time. If our 5th St Access is affected, you should be able to enter beside the pier. I will know more information exactly when it will affect our specific beach access.
