The building is known as the ‘Green House', a traditional Chongqing house which has been faithfully reconstructed in the original style. There are three floors: the first is a reading room and tea house; the second holds two separate bedrooms; the top floor is an open air roof garden with views of surrounding streets. The interior is tastefully decorated throughout with artefacts and relics collected over a number of years, creating an atmosphere of simplicity and tranquillity.
The guest bedroom is 20m2 and ample for two people. For children under five an additional small bed can be added. The large Japanese Tatami bed is suitable for use as either a double or twin. Walls are whitewashed and adorned with simple traditional arts.
I can serve a simple traditional local breakfast of steamed buns, fresh milk and soy-bean milk, and Chongqing noodles.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests are entitled to free use of the washing machine, kitchen and reading room. For the tea room, guests can freely drink their own tea or purchase from a choice of leaves available from the owner.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
I can escort guests around the local area and nearby mountain, including to collect fresh spring water and pick tea, or to the nearby south bank of the Yangzi River. I am familiar with Chongqing’s history, including important local buildings from the Qing and Republican periods, and can offer further advice on potential tourism routes.
As the Green House is personally designed and lived in, I hope guests will treat it as their own home. Pets are permitted, but smoking is not. The Green House is a place of calm and tranquillity, and not suitable for large gatherings.
