This big, comfy, 4 bedroom, 3 level pole home is the perfect spot to get away from it all. Quiet, peaceful. A great place for some well earned "me" time, or a place to take the kids for a tree change. National Park, great restaurants close by.
This really is a mountain retreat. You can escape the hustle and bustle of the world here. Mobile phones will only pick up 1 - 2 bars in the house. If you walk to the top of the driveway phones usually kick in. There is a land line in the house. Everyone is most welcome to use that when ever they need. Wi Fi is available but again it's limited. If you really can't be without either of these, this probably isn't the place for you. It's great when you are here to catch up and chat with friends or family. Games come out, conversations & creativity flow, and everyone enjoys the quality time this space creates.
3 double bedrooms with queen sized beds, main has a trundle single underneath + 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. 1 double sofa bed (in the lounge area) + 1 small fold-up single bed (suitable for children) + couch which makes a good single bed + baby's porta cot. Main has ensuite and private balcony. Fully equipped country kitchen with wood burning stove & 4 burner gas cook top. 2 living areas, main with slow combustion wood heater, piano and library.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests have access to whole house. Games, jigsaw puzzles, books, art materials, TV, video, piano, guitar. Double car garage. Yoga deck. Highchair, ping-pong table, tee-pee for kids on the lawn. Bush walking tracks. Fresh air, mountain breezes, trees and wide open skies. We are on 40 acres here, the property has a dam, (you can't see it from the house), and we are surrounded by bush. The house doesn't have a fenced yard, so children need to be supervised at all times. This can be done easily from the front veranda, where you can watch the kids running around and playing in the teepee. You will be surprised to hear the volume of their uninhibited play, having nothing other than the wind in the trees and the birds to compete with. They love it. We also have a fire pit that you are all most welcome to use. Great for toasting marshmallows, telling tall tales, singing and gazing at the starry, starry, night.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Owners live on the property in a separate dwelling. We will gladly be here to answer any questions about the house or area. For the most you won't even know we are there.
There isn't a local shop so all supplies need to be purchased before arriving. Woodford is the closest centre. It's 15 mins. drive down the mountain.
This is a perfect place to rest, relax and replenish. Nature is often nurse maid for tired souls and weary bodies. We hope you will find the time to let her have her way with you.
We would prefer if you didn't smoke in the house.
We only have rain water tanks here so we ask that you be conscious of this and try to have quick showers. ( Also the pressure will not be as strong as you are probably used to, for the same reason.)
The house has a septic system so ladies all waste in the bins provided please.
If you bring your pets with you we ask that they be restrained at all times. Reasons being, 1. So they don't disturb the local wild life, and
2. So the local wild life doesn't disturb them. e.g. scrub ticks, snakes.
Hi. My name is Sue and I have lived in this beautiful place for thirty years. I have raised my three children here, and currently share with my partner Kevin. I feel very blessed to live where I live. Every morning I can step out side my front door and be greeted by the bush . Birds call, the sun's rays filter through tall gum trees. Misty mountain air fills my lungs and awakens me, mind, body and soul. I wander down to my yoga deck and start the day with some gentle stretching and a salute to the sun. I sit in meditation and a feeling of gratitude and love soon fills me. I'm a quiet soul. I love just spending time watching the birds and the bush animals going about their day. It's not hard to feel a part of it all around here. It's so quiet and peaceful. I actually call this place "Mingary". It means a quiet place. A place to rest, relax and replenish. For some time I have imagined opening Mingary to the public, to offer an escape from hectic daily life, and the opportunity to find clarity and inspiration. My dream for the future is to have an Art's Space here. How wonderful will it be to have people from all around the world sharing ideas, learning from each other and taking stories of love and friendship back with them where ever they may go.
Kevin is an old musician from way back. He enjoys nothing more than sitting around with a group of friends just having a jam. Music is his passion. You can find him every Saturday afternoon in Jallas Cafe, in Woodford, running a jam session. His main instrument is bass guitar, but he's a pretty good drummer, plays acoustic guitar, song writes and sings, as well. If you are that way inclined, come on over and see if you can't sing up a storm with him in our music space.
Life motto .... well, I guess we both believe that life is here to be enjoyed. So enjoy every moment, because that's really all there is.
Can't wait to meet you all. Much love Sue and Kevin.
