Description

Our home is a unique work-from-home dream, designers who live within and love well-made vintage décor and architecture. The house is almost 5000 square feet of constant design evolutions, located in country's highest concentration of historic homes.

It’s the achievement of a unique work-from-home dream – ecological designers who live within and love well-made vintage décor and architecture. The house is almost 5000 square feet of constant design evolutions, including a full professional workshop, sawing room, and filled to the rafters with hundreds of vintage chic creations and goodies. The backyard features a seventy foot long fence made from recycled chippy old doors, and last summer an in-training crew of archaeologist digging for any remains of an 1800 century mansion. And the surrounding neighborhood has the highest concentration of historic period homes in the country.

Our home is walking distance to: many fine restaurants and bars, both Greyhound and Amtrak stations, corporate offices (including GE and Quirky), Union Collage and SCCC, and the highest concentration of historic period homes in the country

We have rotating litters of the cutest fostered kittens, in the first days of their lives, as they spend time in playful. The room is located on the third floor with a shared bathroom.

Great B&B in beautiful, historic neighborhood. Chris and Donna were very friendly and nice. Bonus for animal lovers as they frequently foster puppies/kittens! Bathrooms are shared, but our bedroom did have a sink.

I felt like I was visiting friends. Chris and Donna were terrific hosts. I had privacy when I needed it, and opportunities to visit with them and other guests when I didn't. I have to return to Schenectady later for my degree, and I cannot wait to stay with them again.

Donna was great! Excellent communication. The place was well kept and quiet. Nice neighborhood with things to do within walking distance. Would absolutely stay again if I was passing through.

The room, and the house, is beautiful. It is very welcoming and was in the perfect area for where we needed to be. I hope to stay there again.

Chris and Donna have an amazing inn in the heart of Schenectady, only a minutes walk from the train station. Every detail of the house feels curated, and yet it is all very relaxed and happy. Clean, bright, cozy. Exactly where you want to stay.

Everything was as described by the hostess. Our hostess made sure she knew when we were arriving and was very welcoming. The room and bed were very comfortable. Only issue was trying to find parking. As in any historical area, street parking was tight. Be prepared to walk a few blocks and enjoy the buildings.

I'm an attorney who left corporate cubical doldrums to pursue my lifelong creative dreams. And my wife Donna is a designer. We take on a variety of new design projects and create unique, wildly original furniture and spaces that showcase Donna's girly-girl, signature shabby chic aesthetic, which is self-taught, and drop-dead gorgeous.
