We live in a nearby city, most likely will hand in keys. There is a lovely woman who has been part of the house and lives two blocks away in case there are any emergencies or questions.

Le quartier

Discover the Roman Province not only Rome!

Beautiful historic town of Anzio. Well known for its seaside harbour setting, it is a fishing port and the sole departure point for ferries to the Pontine Islands of Ponza, Palmarola and Ventotene. The sea over here is "blue flagged", which is an indication of the high environmental and quality standards it has. Anzio is also known as the site of the landing of allied forces (Operation Shingle) and the battle of four months that followed (Anzio Campaign) during World War II. The Battle of Anzio is depicted in the movie The Wall by Pink Floyd and The Landing of Anzio Edward Dmytryk.
Anzio is also the birthplace of the emperors Caligula and Nero (the city was then called Anzio).

We have great restaurants, café, shops, etc within walking distance, well as countryside and historic places.

It has 3 floors with 2 large completely separate living rooms where to entertain easily over 20 people.
Large wine cave with ancient history. 4 main bedrooms and 3 smaller rooms bedroom style where you can find couches and small beds for children.

Large entrance with large terraces to suntan and enjoy.

Transports

Rome is easily accessible by train or car.

An easy straight line walk to the beach and to the center of town.

Anzio is ideally located:
45 min boat ride to Ponza Island
40 min drive to Castelli Romani
2:30 hours to the Amalfi Coast (Capri, Ischia, Positano etc.)
2:00 hours to Tuscany and Umbria
Under 1:00 drive to all of Lazio's beautiful castles
1:30 drive to port of Civittavechia where one can take daily boats to: Sardinia, Palermo etc..
Beautiful road trips following the sea up to Portofino, Cinque Terre, Monaco, South of France and Barcelona.

Take a train to Bari and jump on a ship and discover places like: Greece, Croatia and other Mediterranean wonders.

The city bears great historical significance as the site of Operation Shingle, a crucial Allied landing during World War II. For Americans, British and French that have family who fought in the WWII it is a historic place to visit especially during the re-enactment of the Anzio battle which is fantastic! Both aerial, nautical and ground shows that are fantastic! It is a must see in January.

We offer assistance organizing day trips and tours in the nearby towns in both English as well as Italian, Spanish, French and German.

The train in Anzio brings you directly into the heart of Rome ( or Nettuno ) in a short time.

There are as well speed-ferry's to the island of Ponza

Autres remarques

There are hourly trains to Rome every day from the nearby train station
