Le logement

The studio is all about simplicity while remaining fully functional and comfortable. Open the balcony doors and lie in bed with the sound of the leaves rustling just outside. Or turn the room into a romantic indoor picnic!

Your kitchen is fully equipped and extra linen is provided.

The bright tiles of the bathroom give a sense of space and light, while the built-in bath offers the space to stretch out, relax and luxuriate.

The ease of this lock up and go apartment makes it the perfect base from which to explore the city.

The apartment block has a private shared garden with a pool and play ground. There is a pre-paid laundry with washers and dryers. 24 hour security and building access control makes guest safety a priority.
There is WFi in the apartment but please note that you have 500 mb allocated to you per day. If you need to use more than this it is at a cost R100 per additional gig of data and you can leave cash on departure for that.

Le quartier

The city center is a juxtaposition of old and new. Overlooking the Company's Gardens, the history of Cape Town is all around you. But with the micro coffee roasters, unique Cape Town clothing boutiques and decor shops, markets and trendy restaurants and bars this neighborhood is far from stuck in the past!

Transports

Parking is a scarce commodity in the city but between street parking and a conveniently located public parking garage half a block away, finding parking for your car won't be a problem here. However getting around in the city itself is so easy without a car it might make sense to use public transport. Walking during the day is perfectly safe, buses or taxis for the slightly further distances are all around you. Uber (the taxi app for your smartphone) is my chosen mode of transport in and around the city. It is so easy, quick and affordable.

Great Apartment in perfect location. Perfect Value for Money. Communication with Thekla was very easy. If you want to explore the CT area from a central point Theklas apartment is a great choice!

Thekla is a wonderful and lovely host who cares about her visitor. The house is so cosy with a nice view on the park and Table Mountains. You really feel yourself at home !!!!!

I had an amazing time staying in this beautiful and centrally located apartment in the heart of Cape Town. The view from the balcony of Table Mountain and Company Gardens is absolutely stunning and Thekla and Natalie were both very considerate and friendly hosts. They arranged for cleaning ladies to come in every week and were flexible in terms of welcoming the visitors I had during my six week stay. Unfortunately the internet in the apartment is not working very well and I ended up paying 170 USD on top of my rent just to keep it going. While Thekla was helping me out the best she could, it was annoying having to keep being cut off and having to pay again and again just to be able to stay online - especially as I was there to do research and needed the internet to check my emails etc. I hope this issue can be fixed as I would love to be able to stay here again on my next visit to Cape Town.

I stayed solo at Thekla and Natalie's apartment for six nights in November. I cannot stress enough how great it was. Communication with the hostesses is very easy and they promptly respond whenever you need any help. Thekla was waiting for me at the moment of checking-in, what a kind woman! The apartment was very clean and welcoming. They provide all the toiletries and also the basics for breakfast (milk, bread, butter, coffee, tomatoes, cheese). The location is great, right in front of the Company Gardens and the South African Museum. There are a lot of options of restaurants in the area. You can walk to the downtown area (15 min walk or a 3 USD Uber ride) or to the V&A Waterfront (30 min walk or 5 USD Uber ride). It was great to sit at the balcony having a view of Table Mountain! The building is also very secure. The only downsides are the limited wifi (which is common in South Africa, though: even 5-star hotels either charge or offer limited data) and the bath without a fixed shower in a high position (might be a problem for people with mobility issues, since you'll probably have to shower stting down most of the time). I definitely recommend staying at their apartment and will certainly book again the next time I go to Cape Town (by the way, great city!)
