Description

This cozy studio (a "tiny home") is the perfect retreat for anyone looking to spend a little time on the island. Relax in solitude and soak in the tub while taking in the amazing view of the valley and water below. This is the place for rest and relaxation.

This place is unique for it's charm and fantastic view from bed and the bath! This space is very cozy but allows for some peaceful R&R time whether you are alone or with a partner.

Guests are free to stroll the hill side vegetable garden patch and along the curvy gravel road down to the water front. The walk to the beach takes about 15 min.

Guests will be able to check in on their own and will not need to interact with anyone upon arrival or during their stay if they do not wish to. The main cabin is located nearby so they very may well see others (and pets) during their stay. They are certainly welcome to call me and meet me during their stay if they wish!

The cabin is nicely situation in the woods and feels very private though the driveway is shared with one neighbor depending on the time of year. It is but a 10 min drive into town and only a 5 min drive to the ferry terminal that will bring you to the bustling city of Seattle.

Guests will need to have their own transportation. There is a bus that runs from the ferry into town, and could drop you off on the main road/highway.
It's about a 10 minute walk from the bus drop off to the cabin.

Our main cabin is about 100 feet away, but once you're in The Owl's Nest its hidden in the trees. The nearest neighbors are about 500 feet down the driveway. The Owl's Nest is sitting on a ravine that is 100 acres of undeveloped land until you get to the water.

Hope this helps!

For a little extra, a "local" package can be waiting for our guests. We have neighboring farms, breweries, distilleries, wineries, lavender farms, ...you name it! We can have local made spa rubs, chocolates, produce, dairy, eggs, meat, wine, and beer to name a few! With the fridge in the cabin, things can stay cold and can be waiting for you. Just let me know a few days in advance and we can work out the details.

Charming little spot to get away from 'big' life. Simple and sweet with handmade soap, fresh flowers & natural bath salts.

Katherine's place is in a lovely location, and she and her partner are wonderful hosts; we felt very welcome. It really is a cute space in a beautiful spot, maybe a five minute drive from the ferry terminal. Do keep in mind that the space is very cozy and thus might be better suited for individuals than couples: no door on toilet; kitchen is really more of a kitchenette that consists of sink, mini-fridge, portable camping stove, & electric kettle; loft sleeping area gets very hot. Also the bathtub, while lovely, only gets about halfway full before the hot water heater maxes out. You can try topping it off with the electric kettle, but while that helped a little if you like your baths hot and deep this may not cut it--we expressly booked this spot because the tub looked so nice and were a little disappointed, to be honest. But other than these minor issues it really is a nice mini-cabin and well worth a visit. Thanks again!

Katherine's little cabin in the woods was so cozy, clean, & beautifully maintained. We loved the location- just a 15 minute walk to the beach & amazing view of the Olympic Mtn range from the porch. Everything was perfectly stocked & Katherine had left fresh floral arrangements throughout the cabin. The bath was perfect & the bed was so comfortable. The wood stove warmed up the space quickly & kept it toasty all night. We so appreciate the thought that Katherine and her family have put into this space. We can't wait to come back.

This little cottage (with a view!) has everything. It does require some agility in climbing the ladder to the bed but is so cozy once you are up there! Perfect with the coffee maker and claw foot tub and great for star gazing.

Beautiful views from a very restful, peaceful and quiet place. The cabin was cozy and has a nice vibe. Great location for exploring the NW part of the island with lots of quiet roads and trails to walk. Close by to the main highway for the buses and a quick drive into town. I didn't have a car and was able to bike around easily everywhere I needed to go. Great experience. Highly recommended

The Owl's Nest made a lovely little retreat for a long weekend on wonderful Vashon Island with my husband. We loved the quiet and secluded location. Katherine could not have been more kind, responsive, and generous. She went out of her way to purchase meat for us from a neighboring farm and had a beautiful bowl of vegetables and herbs waiting for us. All in all, a wonderful getaway!
