Description

2.5 blocks to Oak Street--Uptown New Orleans' "Main Street USA", a walkable strip of locally owned restaurants and shops, little known to tourists; but home to many of the city's most beloved local hangouts such as Jaques-Imo's and the Mapleleaf.

Perfect for Jazz Fest, this block in
New Orleans is home to several employees of the festival who not only put on a great show, but are great neighbors as well.

Private backyard garden with grass, vegetable beds, fruit trees and a wooden play structure for children.

I will be staying nearby and available to welcome you to our wonderful city--except for Jazz Fest hours when I work at the Fest. I am available by phone during those hours, or drop by my tent.

2 blocks to the most wonderful European style bakery in all of New Orleans. The neighbors are all fantastic friends. My favorite restaurants are within walking distance on Oak: Chiba (favorite Japanese in the city), Jaques-Imo's, La Casita and Cowbell (great burgers)

Walking distance to the St. Charles streetcar line that goes all the way to the French Quarter and everywhere in between. Also, there are dozens of restaurants and music clubs to walk too. Its a great bicycle neighborhood too.

- 1 king bed
- 1 bunk bed (twin up and twin down)
- 1 spare twin mattress
- several inflatable matresses in queen and twin sizes

- professionally tuned piano

The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

The house is filled with antiques, you will never be bored in the room. The outside location may look little shady but its very good. The host response is very good in fact the best and they have got all kinds of music instruments in the home. Its a 15 to 20 minute drive to french quarters and 5 to 10 minute walk from street car. Good and recommended

Louise did a great job in communicating with us and being available for any questions that we had. We had a really hard time with our flights in and out of New Orleans, and she was also great at being flexible with our check in and out.

Louise was great! She was there to greet us when we arrived, and was very accommodating. Her home is full of charm with interesting artwork at every turn. I love how Louise's house completely embodied the New Orleans culture. Very cool, relaxed, and enriching.

Louise was a very responsive and helpful host during our planning and arrival. It was easy to locate and access the house. However, the cost is high (same as a mid-range hotel) considering the location (a bit of a walk from the Oak Street area and far from other neighborhoods like the Garden District and French Quarter) and the accomodations were pretty rustic. There is only one queen size bed in the main bedroom, a child size bed is in the second bedroom with air mattresses.

C. Louise was incredibly responsive and flexible during our trip to New Orleans. Our trip had a number of snags (cancelled events, missed flight connections, etc), but through it all, C. Louise was willing to help in any way that she could. The home has a great backyard with a cute garden in the front. The shotgun style seems unique to the area and was a wonderful experience for a couple. The home is about a 15 - 20-minute drive to the hot spots of the city (Bourbon, City Park, etc).
