We recommend the hut for guests who need more privacy, such as couples, families, or groups (up to 4 people). Our other main guesthouse is more of an active environment, with more beds but less privacy.
Please choose the room type that best fits your needs.
Please note that our guesthouse is geared towards those who enjoy being immersed in a secluded natural setting. We are surrounded by forests and situated next to the sea. If you have any allergies to plants, animals, or insects, or do not feel comfortable spending time outdoors, please consider this before booking with us.
Also note that our guests are often up early for kayak fishing and morning activities. If you are a late sleeper or prefer not to be around people who are getting up early, please consider booking the private hut rather than beds in the main guesthouse dormitory.
We enjoy hosting people of all ages, from all over the world. Our guests include a wide range of demographics, from locally-based kayak fishermen, to families traveling with children, to solo and group foreign guests. Please note that our busiest months are June-August. The guesthouse is always quite full during that time. If you are looking for a stay that is quieter, with more solitude, consider visiting us in the fall or the spring.

Hello! We are your hosts, Tatsu & Masako. During our extensive travels in New Zealand, we had a priceless time meeting new people from all over the world and were impressed with the style of hostels and lodges that we experienced there. When we returned to Japan, we were inspired to start a guesthouse of our own, incorporating some of the qualities that we value most, such as proximity to the ocean and nature, a clean and comfy living space, and a family-oriented hosting environment.
Amakusa, on the west coast of Japan, is a perfect place to relax and unwind amidst gorgeous coastal scenery. You can enjoy fishing, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, or simply chilling out on our deck. While we are reachable via JR trains and local bus, the town is off the beaten path enough that you can experience peace and quiet during any season.
We have a wonderful daughter, Yuuka, and 2 lovely cats, and we hope you enjoy our family's hospitality. We warmly welcome you.
