This 1850s farmhouse sits amidst thousands of acres of State forest. Atop a hill you'll have a 360 degree view of mountains- not another home in sight. Enjoy meals at the picnic table and nightly bonfires. Unwind and make yourself at home.

Le logement

Drive up, open your car door and take in the fresh air, and sweet silence only broken with the sounds of running streams, birds and rustling trees. This has been our home away from home for twelve glorious years where we have enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. We welcome you to experience our beloved getaway, the wonderful surrounding community and activities.

Accès des voyageurs

Guests have full access to home and yard. Two bedrooms and a pullout sofa bed in the living. If you like to cook our kitchen has modern appliances and is stocked and ready with kitchenware to prepare a thanksgiving meal. Outside we have a BBQ grill, and smoker that you are welcome to use. An inside wood burning stove warms winter nights and an outside fire pit hosts summer bonfires. We are near Max Shaul State Park, the Long Trail and in the heart of State land rambling in abundance with hiking trails, streams, and ponds . Hourly or day getaways include exploration of surrounding towns rich in history and character, Revolutionary war sites, Sharon Springs and Cooperstown where you can take in the baseball hall of fame museum or ball game, sit by the lake, peruse galleries, artisan shops, and eat at a variety of cafes and restaurants. Over the years our guests have enjoyed visits to Howe Caverns, Iroquois Indian Museum, Minekill State Park, farmers markets, cheese- makers, water parks, and ski slopes.

In Middleburgh (15mins away) you will find a gas station, convenience stores and restaurants. In Cobleskill (20mins away- home to SUNY Cobleskill) you will find a movie theater, yoga studio, Agway, Price Chopper Grocery Store, fast food restaurants, Walmart and more.

We have received excellent reviews hosting our NYC apartment on airbnb. Our only cancellation was due to a notice that construction (noise) would be started on the rear exterior of the building.

Great place for our weekend getaway to watch my nephew play at Cooperstown all star village. The location was about 45 min to Cooperstown and 45 min to Oneonta via highway where CASV is. Drives to and from were beautiful. House and location were clean and quiet. On our drives we were able to see parts of the area that we would not have seen if we had stayed at one of the destinations. We got a true sense of actually living there. The house had what we needed and plenty of charm. Anthony & Vivianne were great and responsive. We love the area and would stay here again as the jumping off point for our adventures.

The farmhouse is a wonderful retreat from coming in from the bustling city! We had a great stay for the Hall of Fame Weekend in Cooperstown, an easy and relaxing 45 min drive to the baseball museum. We stopped at a Walmart a few cities before and stocked up on food, and had a great time using the BBQ, fire pit, and lawn chairs. Of course this is an 1850s farm house- but the creaky floors and antique feel add to its charm. Bring a little bug spray and sunscreen and you will love this quaint getaway. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us, Anthony and Vivian!

We felt well taken care of. It is a small place for sure and an old house but when the weather is good the outside is amazing for hanging out. its exaclty as advertised. A very nice private getaway.

The house was awesome! Tucked in the middle of beautiful scenery the property is ideal for relaxation. The house has plenty of space and so much personality. We enjoyed our time there at night while visiting Cooperstown during the day.

My wife and I, along with two friends, had a great Memorial Day weekend in Anthony's Richmondville house. The location is quiet and beautiful, and the house is clean and spacious enough for four. We hiked the hill in the backyard and found a private stream across the street. We barbecued and sat around the fire pit at night. We also took a drive to Cooperstown for lunch and Sharon Springs for dinner. Both were worth the drive. I recommend Anthony's place if your looking for quiet surrounded by nature. It was a great weekend.

I love coffee, food and wine. My favorite travel destinations are the Caribbean, Latin America and Italy. When we travel we never have a schedule or itinerary but are more interested in blending in experiencing our new environs as close to possible as the locals do. We strive for an authentic experience and in turn are a very hospitable couple and we love to entertain and cook for friends.
