The house has a resident manager Oscar who will look after you during your stay and arrange delivery of water and in case of power cut diesel for the generator. (Charged in addition at cost)

Le quartier

Walking down the beach to the local fishing villages in either direction is the perfect way to end the day as the sun goes down. In complete contrast 25 minutes away there is the West Hill shopping Mall, the largest in West Africa, which is the easiest place to pick up groceries. Krokobitee (15 minutes) is good for local nightlife, and Accra, Ghana's capital city is less than 45 minutes away.

A taxi is the easiest way to travel and is inexpenisve. Otherwise we can put you in touch with a local hire car company who can rent you a car and driver for air port pickups or by the day.

Autres remarques

The house is not on a water pipeline and all water is brought in by tanker, and as a result is very precious. As water usage varies so much according to occupancy we don't include water in the cost of the rental, and ask visitors to buy their own water. This will be organised through Oscar who will arrange to have the tank filled prior to your arrival, but would ask that you would have the Cedis equivalent of £40 to give him on arrival. Further water supplies will be arranged by Oscar at cost. The tank holds around 2500 gallons.
The house is connected to mains electricity, and is fully air conditioned. However this is Africa, and subject to intermittent power cuts. We do have a back up generator which runs off diesel, however we ask visitors to choose if they wish the generator to be turned on and pay for the diesel consumption which works out at around £3 per hour.

Règlement intérieur

The upper terrace is not suitable to be used by children owing to the large gaps between the tension wires that act as a balustrade. Maximum occupancy is 10 unless prior arrangement + a maximum 10 additional visitors on site at any one time

I booked this house when I realized decent accommodations in Accra are rather expensive. The beach house is affordable and roomy enough for a family to stay comfortably. The description on the website is accurate but there are some additional expenses. Know that Ghana will experience power outages, so expect to buy diesel for the generator- one jug should be enough. We had 9 people stay for a week, so had to buy water twice. The house could use some fixing up (tennis court is unusable currently, several patio chairs in ruins, pool tiles missing, etc) however, we were able to overlook these things while having a blast on vacation. The beach is nice, a little trashy- but that's expected for Ghana. Take a left at the beach and walk down a bit for the Green Turtle Bar! The house staff are very helpful including the groundskeeper and the cook. We ate at the house most days simply because traveling to town was so time consuming. The cook charges based on how many days he cooks. The West Hills Mall is nearby, but it takes just over an hour to get to Accra. The road to the beach house is VERY rough, so I advise using a truck or SUV. The first few times finding the place is also very difficult. It's best if you have a local person guide you.

Oscar made us feel very welcomed and took care of everything for us. The cooks were very nice and accommodating. We loved the grounds (hammocks) and the pool. Because the wifi wasn't very strong we played a lot of cards and swam together in the pool and ocean! We ate lobsters for $1 each! We rented a car and went to Kakum National Park (2 hours away) and Elmina castle.
