Villa de Thomasis is an ancient villa dating back to the 14th century situated in Lucca surroundings. The villa is situated on a hill side facing south and offers splendid views over the landscape, that you can enjoy from the pool.
While the sites of historical and cultural relevance of the area are well-known and covered by all tourist guides, including those you can find in the house.
Take a ride around the city walls by rickshaw. You can rent them in Porta Santa Maria.
Get lost in and around town, have a look at the internal courts of buildings and small alleys, unexpected architectural beauty might be just round the corner.
Outside Lucca you can take a ride around the Garfagnana and Lunigiana. There you can discover hidden corners of the valley which offer entirely different aspects to the change of the seasons: the footpath, landscape, woods, colours every time will be for you a new emotion. You’ll find on the road the Ponte del Diavolo (Devil’s bridge): it crosses the Serchio river in Borgo a Mozzano. It will be a nice place where take some nice photos.
On the top of the hill of Matraia (Pizzorne) there is a quiet and cool place where you can relax.
