This is the view from the room!Bill Clinton had a good time here back in the 60's so one day he dropped by unannounced to see if the hotel was still around!

This centrally located, cosy hotel is housed in an authentic Dutch canal house built in 1652. The room has an en-suite bathroom and a stunning canal view. Breakfast is included, there's free Wi-Fi and the city's finest cocktail bar is next door!

The room has two single beds and an en-suite bathroom with two washbasins, a toilet, a shower and a bathtub. There is central heating, a TV and Wi-Fi which you can use at your convenience.

Please be aware: there is an elevator in the building but you must go up a short flight of steps to get to it. People with mobility issues should take this into account.

You will be given a set of keys that will allow you to come and go any time you please.

We don’t really have an official check-in time. At the latest the room will be ready around 14:00 but usually it’s earlier. If you arrive before the room is ready you can leave your bags in the office and go and explore the area.

IMPORTANT: our reception closes at 20:00, for check-ins after this time there is a €10 surcharge. You must let us know in advance if you are going to be checking in late. The fee must be paid in cash upon arrival.

Daniel is one of the employees of the hotel and he will be your contact person during your stay, feel free to ask him anything! Additionally you can always find someone around the reception area between 8am and 8pm. They will also happily help you out with any questions you may have.

The hotel is situated on the Singel canal, this is the oldest canal on the famous Amsterdam canal ring and served as a moat around the city until 1585. Within walking distance there are countless things to see and do. In no less than five minutes you can walk to the Dam square and the Royal Palace. The flower market, Anne Frank's house and the Red Light District are all close by. Want to do some shopping? The famous 'Nine Streets' and the Jordaan area are just minutes away. For the foodies among you, there are some outstanding restaurants to enjoy. As far as the location goes you really can't get much better in Amsterdam. And to finish it off: no more than three steps from the hotel is Tales & Spirits, recently voted Amsterdam's best cocktail bar!

When we confirm your booking we'll send you a guidebook in PDF format with details about your accommodation and some recommendations for things to see and do in the area.

If you’re flying into Schiphol Airport then the easiest way to get into the city is to take the train to Amsterdam's main train station (Amsterdam Centraal). The ride only takes about 15 minutes. From the station the hotel is about 10 minutes walk. We will send you more detailed directions once your booking has been confirmed.

Because of our proximity to the main train station, almost all of Amsterdam's tram lines are within walking distance. The trams will get you just about anywhere you want to go in the city. There are however also many bus lines close to the hotel which are useful for reaching areas outside the centre.

Of course the best way to see Amsterdam is by bicycle! We will give you all the information you need to rent a bicycle, there is a very good rental place just around the corner.

Breakfast is included and is served downstairs in the reception every morning from 08:15 until 10:30. It includes fresh coffee or tea, orange juice, a croissant, boiled egg, bread roll, jam & cheese.

The location is great for both of us who visited Amsterdam for 2 days. We can explore all the iconic spots by walking distance. The room is very clean. Not to mention, myself and my wife were so happy to see the view from the window. It made our short trip in Amsterdam even more memorable. Thanks for the great stay and hospitality.

This was our third trip to Amsterdam, and Daniels place is now our favorite place to stay. It is a quaint bed-and-breakfast with beautiful views of the canal from the top floor room where we stayed. Our room had very tall ceilings and lots of windows that let in a lot of natural light. The bathroom looks like it was recently remodeled and is large and modern with a large tub that fit both my husband and I, which was very nice after a long day of walking. Daniel was also nice enough to accommodate a special request of mine for extra pillows, as I am pregnant and need a lot of pillow support while I sleep right now! The building and neighborhood are very close to everything you want to do in Amsterdam, but they are on a quiet street so you can sleep with the windows open. The included breakfast was great as well- we especially loved the French press coffee and the basket of warm croissants and breads. The woman who checked us in and served the breakfast was very nice too and let us store our luggage for a couple hours before check in and after check out which was very convenient. WiFi was fast and they have an elevator. We will be staying here next time we come to Amsterdam and highly recommend it!

Daniel was very kind. I accidentally booked for the wrong day, and so could not use the booking. But he refunded half of the cost of the room

I'm a busy Amsterdammer, born and bred, who works in the hospitality industry. I run my own B&B but I also run this profile for the owner of a beautiful 17th century hotel on the Singel canal.

I really love my city and I'm always happy to impart some of my local knowledge to our guests. Whatever it is, I'm happy to help!
