Very fast responses and perfect communication, very caring and nice person to talk to ! I recommend this place, simple and clean, very nice accomodations ! A little far from center (15 min) if you walk and stay there several days, and the appartments are on the 5th floor withou elevator (be sporty !) aside from that it was really nice place and again, Markuss is really making you feel like you have someone supporting you on the trip !
The place was easy to find, only a 10 minute walk from the central station - it's actually a hostel called "Just like home". We didn't get the room in the picture but a similar one just as good. Besides that, the hostel had two bathrooms with one shower cabin each and a kitchenette with a small freezer. Unfortunately our room didn't have heating so it got quite cold during the nights. Also the main door in the building and the hostel door (5th floor) were unlocked 24/7 so basically anyone could have walked in - remember to lock your doors. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this very affordable hostel.
One day before our way Markus wrote me that he has overbooking and that he found for us some hotel in the center. It was actually hostel and not so nice and clean as looked Markuss big room. We were sorry for this experience, didn't feel quite safe and even confortable in the hostel where even heating was turned off. We even had to lock our door everytime when we were inside our room, because not once somebody tried to enter our room. But in the end i have to say that the owner of the hostel was kind to us. Hope that next time we will have better experience in Riga.
He was available to receive us late in the night although communication prior was a little difficult. The place on the inside is well furnished but we did not receive the room we were shown on airbnb's website because he rented out the room to another tenant who was staying for a month. It was decently manageable though. The toilet did not have consistently warm water.
It is a guest house called "Just like home", on the ninth floor of a very old building, like most of the buildings in Riga, with a good location, walking distance from the city centre. The room is how it looks in the pictures, Markuss was nice and we had fluent communication. There is no stove or oven in case you want to cook, just a microwave and a sink. There are two toilets and two showers. The building at the entrance is a bit smelly.
